Salik's popularity began when he spoke in Chinese to a Malaysian tourist while selling souvenirs outside Angkor Wat. The female tourist noticed the b.oy and spoke to Salik in French. The street vendor b.oy answered fluently before continuing to speak Cantonese, then adding Japanese.

Through that clip, a businessman became a benefactor to the b.oy's family. This man helped Thuch Salik's family move to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The turning point of life
After realizing her talent and efforts, Thuch Salik was accepted by Hailiang Foreign Language School in Zhejiang, China. It was really a great opportunity, opening a new page in this b.oy's life. This is a large school with 60,000 students and teachers from 23 countries.
"In a video, Salik expressed that he wanted to go to China to study in Beijing, he likes Chinese. These words touched the heart of the founder of Hailiang language school," said Chen Junwei, president and said the CEO of the corporation that runs the school.
Mr. Chen and his colleagues went to Cambodia to encourage Salik's family to go to China to study. "We brought many gifts such as uniforms, briefcases, other items to meet Salik and his parents. Although, realizing that he has talent, his mother showed reluctance. She worries that her son is too young, difficult to adapt to life abroad, China's climate is very cold. In the end, all attempts at persuasion failed. Chen and his colleagues had to fly back to China.
However, Hailiang School did not give up on persuasion. They continued to encourage and even brought Salik's parents to visit the school. After much discussion, the b.oy's parents finally agreed to let him fly to Zhejiang in 2019 to study.
At first, Salik had a hard time keeping up with the other students, so he was given private lessons. Only after a while, the b.oy could study with his friends. The school also sent an extra person to help Salik adjust to life abroad. After graduating from Hailiang School, you can be transferred to Peking University.
Sharing about life and studying abroad, Thuch Salik said: "When I was in Siem Reap, I only studied at school, helped my mother with sales, and hardly had time to play with friends. Currently, I study a l.ot, after school I have more friends to play with."
In January 2020, Salik returned to Cambodia for winter break, but due to the impact of the Covid epidemic, he could not return to Zhejiang. During this time, I still study online and participate in skills training courses to become a celebrity.
