Miss Tourism Worldwide 'poor' system: stage in conference room, Vietnam does not send representative

The national costume show of the Miss Tourism Worldwide 2025 contest took place in Malaysia. However, contrary to public expectations, the event disappointed with its small scale, unprofessional organization, and lack of highlights.

Miss Tourism Worldwide is an international beauty pageant that seeks to find representatives to promote tourism and culture of countries. First held in 2018, this contest aims to honor local identity, creating a bridge to promote tourist destinations through beauties. Although the goal is global, in recent years, this playground has been increasingly underestimated in terms of scale and quality of organization.

The national costume performance is one of the important competitions in beauty pageants. This is not only an opportunity for contestants to express their national pride but also helps international audiences have a visual look at the culture of each country. However, at Miss Tourism Worldwide 2025, the organizers let the contestants perform in a cramped space, lacking investment. The images show that the event took place in a small room, which looked no different from a company meeting room, making the atmosphere less grand.

Not only that, the sponsors’ names displayed on the screen were also criticized as being sketchy and lacking in aesthetics. This raised suspicions that the competition was being cu.t in budget, leading to a decline in the quality of the organization.

In addition to the unprofessional setting, the contestants also failed to make a strong impression on the public. Many national costumes were judged to be uncreative, unimpressive, and not clearly representing the cultural identity of each country. This further overshadowed the value of the competition, which was expected to be a highlight in the contestants’ journey to conquer the crown.

The lack of organization has made many audiences question the reputation of Miss Tourism Worldwide. A contest with an international name but poor organization, even worse than many national beauty contests, will certainly lose its appeal to the public. Especially in the context of social networks playing an important role in spreading images, if not improved, Miss Tourism Worldwide is at risk of becoming increasingly obscure in the international beauty scene.

The Miss Tourism Worldwide 2025 contest will take place from March 10 to 16, hosted by Singapore and Malaysia. This year's contest will feature 24 beauties from countries and territories around the world. Vietnam will not be participating in the contest.

Previously in 2024, Vietnam sent a representative born in 2003 to compete in China. With a lovely face and model-standard appearance, runner-up Bui Thu Thuy is expected to make history at Miss World Tourism 2024. In 2023, Bui Thu Thuy excellently won the 3rd runner-up position at the Miss Fitness Supermodel Vietnam contest.

It is known that the beauty was born in 2003, from Thai Binh, is a student at the Central University of Art Education. In addition to studying at school, Bui Thu Thuy also pursues artistic activities, taking on the role of photo model and advertising model for many famous brands.

As a representative of Vietnam participating in a world-class beauty pageant, runner-up Thu Thuy could not help but be moved and proud. She said: "I feel honored and proud to represent Vietnam in an international beauty pageant. With a great responsibility on my shoulders, I tell myself that I will try my best. I also hope that the two words "Vietnam" will be shouted out in the international arena with the highest position".

Sharing her motivation for participating in the beauty pageant, Thu Thuy said that since she was a chil.d, she has loved watching art shows and wanted to shine and perform on a big stage. "And especially, when participating in the Miss World Tourism pageant, I can promote the image, culture, and identity of my homeland to international friends, contributing to the strong development of Vietnamese tourism on the world map," the runner-up confided.
