There is also another group, who are ordained according to Buddhist standards, have received ordination and are recognized, granted the Church's message to become monks, and are certified by the government as monks.

However, due to health reasons, due to old age, there was no one to take care of them at the temple, so they asked for permission to go home to take care of their family members. In this case, it is a monastic but living at home. They still perform religious rituals, live the same life as they do at the temple, are still legal monks, not lay people."

He emphasized that a lay practitioner and a monk living at home are two different concepts.

"Lay followers don't shave their heads, don't wear monastic clothes, and don't engage in religious activities. They have the right to enjoy life, dance, exercise, sing, and participate in all activities. In everyday life, however, they are self-aware that they are Buddhists, and their hearts are turned to Buddha.

This is the point for the Bong Lai Tinh group to make excuses. When questioned by the authorities, when contacted by the press, when questioned by the online community, they said that they practice at home, that is, admit they are lay people.

But in normal times, they call themselves monks, nuns, and novices. Mr. Le Tung Van also organizes evangelism and takes refuge for others like a Buddhist monk.
