According to the history books of the Thai people, long ago, there were two kings of Laos and Vietnam who became friends from a young age, sharing happiness and suffering together.

Growing up, they often went back and forth to visit each other like a pair of close friends and confidants. To keep their friendship forever intact, the two made a promise to each other that when their children grew up, the two families would become in-laws.

And their promise seemed to be blessed by the gods. The Vietnamese king gave birth to a handsome, handsome and intelligent prince, while the Lao king gave birth to a beautiful, modest and modest princess.

Even though each is the king of a country, the two still maintain the old bond of friendship and friendly neighborliness between the two countries.

On one occasion, the couple was sent by their father to inspect some areas. Before leaving, the king told his entourage to take strict care of the two people. After learning about the incident, the Lao king was angry and immediately sent his men and horses straight to Vietnam to chase. The couple ran away forever and ended up on the banks of the Ma River.

After waiting a day and a night, there was still no sign of a boat. The couple was hungry and did not want the princess to suffer injustice because of them. The son-in-law hugged his wife and told him to stay in the cave and wait, then alone they connected the rope and crossed the river. pulled the raft to the other side as a bridge to take his wife across the river.

But when the royal concubine had just crossed the river, a dark cloud covered the entire area, the water of the Ma River rose, the waves splashed white foam, and the water boiled and roared.

The royal concubine stood on the left bank of the river, the princess on the right bank kept waiting for each other, calling each other's names forever in vain and then turned into stone statues.

After that day, in the area on the right bank of the river, at the foot of the mountain, people around the area saw a strange stone statue of a woman facing the other side of the left river that had never been seen before. Even more strange is that on the left bank of the Ma River, there is a stone statue of a man standing indifferently towards the right bank of the river.

Understanding the incident and being touched by the eternal and faithful love of the petrified couple, the people contributed to building a temple, called Ong Temple. The statue of a woman is called Ba cave.
After completion of construction, this temple became famous for its sacredness. If a group of people and horses passed by here without taking off their hats or dismounting from their horses, some would immediately fall and some would vomit blood from their mouths.

Therefore, many troops coming here must dress neatly, burn incense, pray and ask for blessings. Since then, for countless generations, the two human-shaped stone statues have been revered and worshiped by the people.

According to the village elders, no one can explain the appearance of these two strange human statues, one male and one female.

The male statue, which people often call the statue of a man, stands on the left bank, while the statue of a woman with long hair stands on the right bank. It is this thrill that makes people think of a beautiful love story about a husband who turns to stone and waits for his husband.
