On October 15, Hanoi City Police said that the Hanoi City Police Criminal Police Department is continuing to investigate the case of a young girl whose body was dumped in the Red River in recent hours.

Previously, based on the results of the investigation, the evidence collected identified the victim as HYN (born in 2006, residing in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi city). She was crowned runner-up in the Miss Vietnam Ao Dai 2022 contest.

At noon on October 13, Mr. Tran Manh Dat (in Linh Nam, Hanoi, working as a fisherman on the Red River) and his wife discovered one of the victim's legs floating on the water, located about 30 meters from the shore. Not long after that, a person fishing on the river, about 100 meters from Mr. Dat's boat, also saw another part stuck on the shore.

Realizing signs of a serious case, Dat called the authorities to notify them. Receiving information, the authorities immediately went to blockade the scene and began investigating. As a result, the victim was identified as HYN, an Asian beauty and a freelance model.

On the evening of October 14, the authorities arrested Ta Duy Khanh (born in 1985, from Thai Binh, permanent resident of Hanoi) on suspicion of being related to N.'s murder. Through initial verification, Khanh and Asia were in a relationship, more specifically the victim's boyfriend.

The next afternoon, the family said they had held a funeral for HYN. According to the mother, N. is the second child in a family of three brothers.
