After many days of searching, the authorities discovered and approached the bodies of 3 victims of the drowning of 5 students in Phu Tho. At the children's families, relatives suppressed their grief and hurriedly prepared for the funeral.
As of this morning (November 20), authorities have found all five bodies related to the case of five 8th grade students who went missing while playing in the Red River in Zone 1, Hien Quan Commune, Tam Nong District, Phu Tho Province on November 18.
Initially, the authorities determined that on the afternoon of November 18, 10 students invited each other to the Red River alluvial area to play. After that, 6 students went swimming in the river (3 boys, 3 girls) and got into an accident. One student was able to swim to shore, while the other 5 students were missing. The unfortunate students were all in 8th grade at Hien Quan Secondary School, including: TMD, HTTL, BKLA, HTD and LAD.
As soon as they received the news that the studentsâ bodies had been found, the mothers cried in pain. All their hopes were dashed, and the day their parents took them home was also the day they were separated from their loved ones forever. Some of the men in the family had red eyes but tried to be strong, and hurriedly drove to Thanh Huyen embankment to confirm the news and take the children home soon.
The small village, which was once peaceful, was suddenly immersed in an atmosphere of sadness and grief. Upon receiving the bad news about the children, relatives and neighbors also came to their homes to encourage, comfort and help with necessary tasks. Mothers and grandmothers... continuously cried and called out the children's names in despair, causing everyone present to choke up. According to the reporter's records, at the students' families, relatives also suppressed their grief to rush around to arrange the funeral for the children.
Over the past few days, the families of the five missing students have been staying at the scene of the accident, waiting for news. Everyone is hoping for a miracle, no matter how small, so that the children can return to their families, to the arms of their parents. However, the miracle has not happened.
The sudden departure of the children left their relatives in shock, not expecting that after just one outing, their children would leave them forever. Upon hearing the news, everyone in the family was devastated, with tears welling up in their eyes every time someone asked about or mentioned the children.
Since the incident, Phu Tho Provincial Police have coordinated with other forces and local authorities to search for the missing victims. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Phu Tho Provincial Police mobilized 2 rescue vehicles, 1 motorboat, 2 breathing apparatus for diving equipment, 2 life rafts, 10 life buoys, and 30 life jackets to assist in the search.
The provincial police also mobilized 35 officers and soldiers (a frogman team of 12 officers and soldiers with full specialized diving equipment) to coordinate with 2 canoes of the Waterway Police force to deploy 2 devices to search the riverbed from the area where the victims were in distress downstream.
In addition, the Phu Tho Provincial Military Command also mobilized 20 officers under the direct command of Colonel Tran Nho Luong - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command. The unit mobilized 4 motorboats, 2 trucks, and established a field command post in Ha Thach commune, Phu Tho town.
The Phu Tho Town Military Command and Lam Thao District Military Command mobilized 40 officers and soldiers, including regular forces and militia, to participate in the search. The Phu Tho Town Party Committee and government were also present at the scene to coordinate and direct the search for the unfortunate students.
