The National Volunteer Center is reviewing Hoang Hoa Trung's use of the phrase "implemented by the National Volunteer Center" in the media coverage of the "Nuoi Em" project. This controversy has had a significant impact, damaging Den Vau's image.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union denies responsibility for coordination.
The press release from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union aims to clarify the transparency and scope of management for charitable activities in the community.
According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, the National Volunteer Center's function is to connect and guide the activities of volunteer clubs and teams; it does not manage or control the finances of these groups.
The association clearly states that Mr. Hoang Hoa Trung's Faith Volunteer Group is only one member of the network. The "Nurturing Children" project, founded and run by Mr. Trung, is an independent project; the National Volunteer Center is not involved in organizing or supervising it.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union is reviewing Mr. Trung's use of the phrase "implemented by the National Volunteer Center" in his project communication activities. If this designation was used to raise funds for a personal project, it constitutes impersonation and falls outside the scope of the Center's authorization and management.
The "Nurturing Children in Nghe An" project was also "cut off" in connection with this.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union also clarified projects with similar names. For example, the "Nurturing Children in Nghe An" project implemented by Ms. Do Thi Nga was confirmed to be unrelated to the National Volunteer Center.
Ms. Nga's nomination to the Standing Committee of the National Volunteer Network in the Central region is solely for internal coordination purposes and is not intended as a basis for fundraising or representing the Center. Any use of this position to raise funds for personal projects constitutes impersonation and is completely unacceptable.
The National Volunteer Center also acknowledged receiving donations from Mr. Trung's group for several coordinated social welfare projects. However, the unit emphasized that these were separate projects, with signed agreements and complete documentation, and were not part of the "Sponsor Children" project.
Den Vâu suffers collateral damage: Risk of damaging his image.
This issue became more sensitive when the "Nurturing Children" project gained widespread recognition and received significant public support after rapper Den Vau's song "Cooking for Children" became popular. This song not only became a hit but also spread the spirit of charity, helping the project attract substantial funding.
Although Den Vau had previously clarified that he was only a benefactor and not the project's administrator, the lack of transparency and the controversies surrounding the organization's name will undoubtedly seriously affect the rapper's image and reputation. Netizens expressed concern that Den Vau is being unfairly blamed for placing his trust and influence in a project facing significant controversy.
Legal action is being sought, and we await the official conclusion.
In general, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union stated that spontaneous charitable activities in the community have positive value, but a complete legal framework is needed to ensure transparency, accountability, and safety for participating organizations and individuals.
The Association recommends that the authorities promptly issue regulations for volunteer clubs and groups; and affirms that it will strengthen supervision, guidance, and support for units within the network. The Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union requests that the press and the public continue to report objectively, while awaiting the official conclusions from the competent authorities regarding issues related to the "Nurturing Children" project to gain the most comprehensive and accurate understanding.
