After there were reflections on the incident of sick pigs and chickens appearing at C.P Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Mr. Lieu Quy Ngan (born in 1985, residing in Soc Trang province) received a decision to dismiss his job.
Recently, C.P Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company (Vietnam Joint Stock Company) has issued a notice to terminate the labor contract with the employee. Specifically, the employee is Mr. Lieu Quy Ngan (born 1985, residing in Soc Trang province).
Talking to reporters, lawyer Diep Nang Binh (Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association) said that the essence of the scam is to condemn and "expose" the violation of the victim of the scam. Therefore, the accused employee has a great risk of retaliation by the person who is accused of being robbed.
"However, after all, the accuser is seriously ill. This work is not humane, not beautiful and causes outrage to consumers of the company's products," Mr. Binh said.
Lawyer Binh also said that from a legal perspective, the unilateral termination of the labor contract with Mr. Ngan by CP Vietnam is an act that shows signs of violating the law. Concrete; "According to Point e, Clause 1, Article 36 of the Labor Code 2019, the employer only has the right to unilaterally terminate the contract if the employee voluntarily quits his or her job without a plausible reason.
But in the case of Mr. Ngan with stage 4 renal failure and having to go on dialysis regularly, his reason for quitting his job can be considered justified.
According to the lawyer, because at this time Mr. Ngan is having a complaint against the company for making mistakes, but this company itself issued a decision to dismiss the company in this situation is not legally based.
Lawyer Binh also said that, based on Point e, Clause 1, Article 9 of the 2018 Law on Crime, the denunciator has the right to request competent agencies, organizations and individuals to take protective measures. This protection includes working positions, jobs, health, life, honor, dignity, etc. of Austrians and their relatives. Therefore, Mr. Ngan needs to send a complaint to the competent authorities to be considered and handled according to regulations if there is sufficient evidence of the company's wrongdoing.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Ngan said that the decision to terminate the labor contract was signed by the Director of Human Resources of CP Vietnam on May 29, 2025, the person holding the position of Admin Support Staff â was dismissed with the reason: "The employee voluntarily quit his job without a good reason from 5 consecutive working days (from 1/4 to 23/5)".
However, Mr. Ngan said that this decision was absurd and not true to reality. Because he himself has chronic kidney disease and has to undergo periodic dialysis.
Previously, the company had decided to adjust work to suit health conditions, allowing employees to work online from home. Recently, Mr. Ngan suddenly received a request to transfer his work to the Can Tho area, although he was not specifically informed about the working time as well as the support conditions.
Mr. Ngan added that he is currently suffering from stage 4 kidney failure and has to undergo periodic dialysis every day. All current treatment costs are covered by insurance, and he can still take care of his daily nutrition costs because he is an engineer, capable of working and earning a living.
On the side of C.P. Vietnam, it has confirmed that the image of sick pigs spreading on social media is real. So how did C.P. deal with sick pigs?
After the authorities of Hau Giang province inspected 2 cattle slaughterhouses, including the slaughterhouse of the C.P. branch in Hau Giang, managed by Mr. Ha Huu Tam, provided information that the images of sick pigs on social media in the past few days were taken at the D.N. slaughterhouse to save the report to the veterinarian.
"When detecting that the pig is not as clean as normal pigs, the slaughterhouse, the company, and the veterinarian coordinate to dispose of it at the furnace by cooking and transferring it to the fish," according to Mr. Tam.
This move, in stark contrast to the previous denials of the representative of C.P Vietnam, made the public extremely frustrated because of the lack of real information.
Pigs are terrestrial animals, which are on the list of animals that must be quarantined.
On May 31, 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) issued Circular 07/2016/TT-BNNPTNT regulating the prevention and control of terrestrial animal diseases. The Circular clearly states that organizations and individuals, when detecting that animals are sick, dead, show signs of infectious diseases or livestock die abnormally without clear causes, must immediately declare animal diseases to commune-level veterinary staff, commune-level People's Committees or the nearest specialized veterinary management agency.
