After the producer of the movie "Blocking Point" terminated her contract and demanded 20 billion VND in damages, actress Thuy Anh spoke up, affirming that she did not reveal confidential information of the film crew.

Specifically, according to Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, actress Thuy Anh and Hoa Tho Media Joint Stock Company signed a contract regarding a commitment to information confidentiality and an agreement to use personal images when Thuy Anh took on the female lead role of Ngoc Diep in the movie "Bucket".

However, according to Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, on the evening of August 12, 2024, Thuy Anh had an accident due to standing in the wrong position during the rehearsal.

According to Ms. Thuy, the producer of the film "Turn Point" estimated the expected damage to the entire film project at about 20,000,000,000 VND, not including damage to the reputation and honor of the organization and individuals involved.

As for Thuy Anh, she said she is currently very sad after the incident on set. "Although many press agencies have contacted me, I had to wait to work with my lawyer before speaking up today. I need to speak up to protect my honor as well as to help the audience understand the situation correctly," the actress said.

The actress, born in 1995, said in a document sent to the media by Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (company director) on August 29, Ms. Thuy said that Thuy Anh had an accident on set because she "was standing in the wrong position". Ms. Thuy also confirmed that "the film crew stopped filming, the production assistant took Thuy Anh to the international hospital in Phu Yen, near the filming location for timely treatment".

"This is not true. I was standing in the position required in the script. The incident happened because my co-star lost control of his actions and accidentally threw the phone at my face, causing me to have a long cut and bleed profusely.

When the incident happened, I went to Phu Yen hospital with the film crew's production assistant. The doctor diagnosed that the wound was very deep and long, and that my wound could not be cosmetically sutured at Phu Yen hospital," Thuy Anh recounted.

The actress said that after agreeing with the film crew, she flew back to Ho Chi Minh City early in the morning of August 13, then contacted her friend (named Chau) to pick her up at Tan Son Nhat airport and was taken to the hospital to treat and stitch her wound.

Thuy Anh said the film crew paid for the one-way airfare, and she paid for the medical examination, cosmetic surgery, and prescriptions out of her own pocket. According to the actress, the film crew has not mentioned paying for any additional expenses.

Thuy Anh said that after having cosmetic surgery in Ho Chi Minh City, she asked the doctor to remove the stitches early so she could return to Phu Yen because she did not want to affect the filming progress even though her wound was not in good condition.

According to Thuy Anh, the information that Ms. Thuy shared with the press "The crew discussed the actor's return to work on the morning of August 20. But the actor changed the schedule to the morning of August 21 because she had to wait for her personal doctor to remove the stitches in Ho Chi Minh City" is not true.

"After receiving the doctor's schedule for stitch removal on August 20, I informed the crew and got Thuy's consent. On August 16, Thuy asked me to be there at exactly 9am on August 20 for filming or she would sue me," Thuy Anh said.

According to the actress, there was no way she could "cut the stitches on the morning of August 20 in Ho Chi Minh City and still be present at the studio in Phu Yen at 9am on the morning of August 20". Thuy Anh said that Ms. Thuy's side put pressure on her, threatened to sue and declared the termination of the contract, demanding 20 billion VND in compensation.

Regarding the information that the film producer said Thuy Anh "violated the commitment to keep information confidential", the actress affirmed that since the incident happened, this is the first time she has spoken up, so Ms. Thuy's statement that she revealed information about the film crew is not true.

Thuy Anh emphasized that her friend Chau's anger at the incident and posting information and photos on her friend's personal page was "beyond my control or responsibility."
