Artist Thao Nguyen's real name is Nguyen Thi Kim Thao, born in 1967. She has loved Cai Luong since childhood, but because of her livelihood, she started to join the Saigon 1 Cai Luong troupe at the age of 20 to start her career, participating in many Cai Luong plays such as Need a Love, The Village Head Brocade Shop, The Young Wife's Hair...

At the end of the 80s, artist Thao Nguyen switched to Minh To Cai Luong troupe and began to shine. She was personally taught and passed on by People's Artist Thanh Tong. The two teachers and students used to act together in the play Ma Super Leopard.

In the early 1990s, artist Thao Nguyen played the role of the palace maiden Quy Thua Ngu in the play Bich Van Cung and impressed the public. Next, she acted as a duet with Vu Linh, Kim Tu Long, both of whom were the top main duets at that time with plays such as I am not the queen, Throne and crime, After the exile...

Although not as famous as colleagues of the same generation such as Tai Linh, Vu Linh, Kim Tu Long, Ngoc Huyen... but artist Thao Nguyen is still mentioned by the audience thanks to her clear voice and solid performance.

Later, artist Thao Nguyen returned to the Autumn Huong troupe at the invitation of pregnant woman Ngoc Huong, but for many reasons, she could not become a peach.

Having to sell bread and work as a security guard to make a living

Artist Thao Nguyen has an extremely difficult and difficult life. When the Cai Luong stage went down, she had to go to trade for a living because there was no more land to perform. At that time, only the main peach, double main and top famous artists could live with the profession.

After her husband died in a traffic accident, artist Thao Nguyen quit singing completely to do business, raising her daughter to study alone. The mother and daughter had to go to a hostel, leaning on each other.

Artist Thao Nguyen's daughter has also just graduated from school, and has only been working for two years. At the age of U60, the female artist still has to work as a security guard, working for 12 hours a day, for 6 and a half million a month.

She said: "I was also raped when I went to work, but I hid myself as an artist. I'm afraid that people will despise me as an artist, but I feel sorry for other artists. I hid my identity very badly. Everyone who asked me said that he must be like a human.

That meal, people moved me to Long An to work. I felt that it was too far away, so I went to buy rice and store it at home for my child. I was stopping at a red light when I was hit by a car that broke my nipple. I was admitted to the hospital at 6 p.m. and did not leave the operating room until 3 p.m. I had to lie at home for ten months, adopted. When I finished crashing the car, I lost all the rice, what a terrible misery."

Until she saw help, artist Thao Nguyen continued to sell bread to help her children and help them pay for accommodation. By chance, she met director Khuong Dua.

Taking pity on the situation of her seniors, director Khuong Dua invited her to play one role or the other in her show.

She said: "I sell 20 or 25 loaves of bread a day, not much profit. I still have to ride a motorbike even though my leg is injured. My life is a form of suffering."

The female artist also revealed that the tea room once invited her to sing at a price of 50 thousand per show, but she was not used to it, so she did not accept. Her daughter was once kicked out of the exam room because she had no money to pay for school, had to run to borrow money to pay for her child's school, so she went into debt.

Death makes colleagues sad

Artist Thao Nguyen's family said that she died on the morning of July 2 after an emergency at the hospital. Thao Nguyen's departure shocked colleagues.

Ngoc Huyen emotionally recalled the time when she was the chief peach in the Minh To Reform Troupe. She revealed that although they are not the same age, Ngoc Huyen, Thanh Thuy, and Thao Nguyen play together very closely.

Thao Nguyen is a few years older than Ngoc Huyen, but they don't call each other sisters but consider each other as friends, only by name.

Ngoc Huyen and Thao Nguyen co-starred in a lot of scenes on stage and video.

Although he is the second and third peach, Ngoc Huyen always appreciates the ability of the Thao Nguyen. She confided: "Nguyen's voice is very good. She sings like artist Thanh Kim Hue but has her own characteristics.

Nguyen's face is very charming, especially his eyes are very beautiful. In general, Nguyen is a good singer and actor."

Ngoc Huyen also said that she likes to play with artist Thao Nguyen because of her gentle nature, good nature, and very self-respecting.

Since Ngoc Huyen went abroad to settle down, she also didn't know about her friend Thao Nguyen.

She and her old friend have only had the opportunity to meet again for nearly a month now on the occasion of both participating in the program at the Garden Star Association.

"We are very happy to see each other again. Listening to Nguyen's story, you know that your life has many difficulties. Because of self-esteem and guilt, you also avoid meeting old friends," - Ngoc Huyen said emotionally.

And she said that on this occasion, Thao Nguyen herself also recalled that in the past, Ngoc Huyen's parents used to help Thao Nguyen with some money to repair the house, give her a motorbike so that she could have a means to go to work.

Ngoc Huyen was surprised and said: "I honestly don't remember this either. In the past, when I went to sing, my parents were very interested in me and my friends, seeing which artists were suffering and my parents helped, but I didn't know.

Even if someone borrows money but doesn't pay, my parents don't bother at all. In the past, my parents loved Nguyen very much, on this occasion the whole family returned to Vietnam and was planning to invite Nguyen to have a meal together to talk and confide in him, but he couldn't be in time anymore."
