The incident angered the audience, with some calling for a boycott, even a "ban" of these two artists. In response to the noise and criticism from the audience, Meritorious Artist Quoc Nghiep spoke up.

Quoc Nghiep said that their family had a summer vacation and performed for a charity sho.w in the US. While staying at a frien.d's house, they could not control the images that appeared in the video and "promised to learn from this experience".

However, this response has further angered the public. Quoc Nghiep's personal Facebook page is currently still locked from comments. O Sen Ngoc Mai's social media account has disappeared after the scandal.

On June 6, 2024, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City responded to the contact with Quoc Nghiep and Ngoc Mai by saying: "We have contacted the artists involved. After June 26, 2024, when Quoc Nghiep and Ngoc Mai return to Vietnam, the Department of Culture will invite the two artists to work and will have information later."

On August 15, 2024, at a regular meeting, regarding the noisy incident involving artists Ngoc Mai and Quoc Nghiep in the US, the leader of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said that the authorities are still verifying whether Ngoc Mai and Quoc Nghiep have returned to Vietnam or not.

"We will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies on this content and inform the press after having specific results," said the leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.

O Sen Ngoc Mai was born in 1987 and was a vocal lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. Recently, the name Ngoc Mai became famous when she won the championship of the first season of "The Masked Singer Vietnam". She was once on the list of nominees for the title of Meritorious Artist.

Ms. Nguyen My Hanh, Party Secretary and Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, said that the unit had terminated the contract with lecturer Le Nhu Ngoc Mai since 2019, and also decided to remove Ngoc Mai's name from the list of Party members due to disciplinary violations.

Specifically, when she was a vocal lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, singer Ngoc Mai was a Party member at Party Cell 3. However, Ngoc Mai violated the Party regulations by not participating in Party activities for 1 year. The Party Cell invited her to meetings many times but she did not attend. Quoc Nghiep, born in 1989, is one of the youngest Meritorious Artists in Vietnam when he was awarded this title at the ag.e of 26. He and his brother Quoc Co were once on the list of nominees for the title of People's Artist.
