On the evening of September 27, social networks shared a clip recording an explosion in an apartment basement in Binh Duong, causing panic among residents. The cause was determined to be a light bulb in the apartment basement exploding.

According to Vietnamnet , the above incident happened on the evening of September 27 at the BC apartment building located on Pham Huu Lau street (Di An city, Binh Duong province). Images recorded from a car's dash cam show that at around 7:37 p.m. on September 27, when a car was moving in the apartment basement looking for a place to park, a large explosion suddenly occurred. The car driver was afraid of fire after the explosion, so he backed up and left the apartment complex. Because smoke covered the apartment's basement area, residents fled in panic.

Although there was an explosion and smoke covered the basement, the automatic fire sprinkler system did not work. Immediately after the incident, the technical team and apartment security arrived at the scene to check.

According to some witnesses, when the light bulb exploded, the fire alarm system was not working, there was no alarm nor water spraying, while right below the light bulb there were many motorbikes parked.

Talking to reporters, the leader of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07) of Binh Duong Provincial Police confirmed the above incident of a light bulb exploding.

According to PC07 leaders, the fire alarm system at this apartment building works normally. Because the Management Board does not use a water fire extinguishing system, water is not sprayed. At the same time, the light bulb only explodes and then goes out, no fire occurs. After the incident, the apartment management board promptly fixed the problem, fortunately causing no damage to people or property.

Malfunctioning electrical wiring, faulty electronics and damaged outlets are the most common causes of electrical fires. But there is another reason that people often ignore, which is the light bulb.
