The official cause of the HAGL car accident that killed 3 people, the truck driver was prosecuted

On the afternoon of August 12, a continuous accident occurred on National Highway 14 - the section through Ia Hrú commune, Chu Puh district, Gia Lai. The car carrying 4 members of HAGL football club crashed - sandwiched between the heads of 2 trucks.

The accident killed 3 members of HAGL th* club including: assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh, doctor Tri Dao and foreign soldier Paollo Oliveira.

Regarding the above incident, on the morning of August 13, Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Safety Committee went directly to the scene to inspect and coordinate with authorities to overcome the consequences.

It is known that after inspecting the scene, Mr. Khuat Viet Hung had a meeting at the People's Committee of Chu Puh district with leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, Gia Lai Provincial Police, Department of Transport and leaders of Chu Puh District People's Committee.

Reporting to the delegation of the National Safety Committee, Colonel Phan Van Manh, Chief of Police of Chu Puh district (Gia Lai) said that the initial cause of the accident was determined to be the driver Dinh Tien Binh (36 years old, resident of Chu Puh district, driving car 81H-02760) overtaking the accident.

Accordingly, through some videos recorded by security cameras, at about 14:40, on August 12, in Tao Chor village (Ia Hrú commune, Chu Puh district), a truck driven by Mr. Dinh Tien Binh in the direction of Dak Lak to Gia Lai - ran past a car of HAGL Football Club running in the same direction and collided.

Specifically, in the process of overtaking, it was discovered that there was a car going in the opposite direction, so driver Dinh Tien Binh steered to the right, collided with the left rear of the car, causing this "ill-fated" car to lose control and hit the front of the truck going in the opposite direction, causing the car to be sandwiched between the two trucks' heads.

As a result, 3 people of HAGL club died on the spot, including assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh, striker Paollo Oliveira (27 years old, Brazilian nationality) and doctor Dao Trong Tri (31 years old). The driver of HAGL's son, Nguyen Tu Sinh, was seriously injured.

The investigating agency determined that Dinh Tien Binh's behavior violated Clause 2, Article 14 of the 2008 Law on Road Traffic. Considering that Mr. Binh's behavior showed signs of "violating regulations on road traffic" stipulated in article 260 of the Penal Code - on August 12, the Police Investigation Department of Gia Lai province issued a decision to criminally detain Mr. Binh.

On the afternoon of August 13, Major Nguyen Minh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Police Investigation Department (PC01) of Gia Lai province also affirmed that this agency has decided to prosecute the case of "violating regulations on road traffic causing serious consequences" in the case of a car of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club being hit, causing 3 deaths, 1 person was injured.

The incident has caused football fans in particular and Vietnamese people in general to be extremely confused and merciful. Recently, coach Park Hang Seo expressed his deep condolences on the loss of his former collaborators: " I mourn the tragic incident involving the loss of players, coaches and doctors of HAGL Club. I extend my deepest condolences to my family and friends. Hopefully everyone will get over this loss soon."

Meanwhile, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFA) Tran Quoc Tuan also sent a letter of condolence to HAGL Club. Mr. Tran Quoc expressed in the letter: "On behalf of the Executive Committee of the VGCL, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of the members who died in the traffic accident and HAGL Club.

This is a great loss for Vietnamese football and HAGL club. The Vietnam Football Federation calls on all Vietnamese coaches, footballers and teams participating in the 2023 National Football League to turn to the families of the victims, stand with them in this difficult time and share and support.

The owner of HAGL also could not hide his grief when hearing the news that the club's god - assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh, striker Paollo and doctor Dao Trong Tri suddenly died.

"I was shocked. This loss is too big," HAGL's boss told VnExpress. "Yang Mingning is gentle, so I love him. He has been involved through all the ups and downs with the club, from his playing days, working as an assistant to Guillaume Graechen to coach the first grade of HAGL Academy and then directly leading the team."

Accordingly, after the last match of the 2023 V. League season between Hoàng Anh Gia Lai and Sông Lam Nghệ An at Vinh Stadium (Group B, phase II- V. League 2023), the entire team was rested by the Coaching Board after a long football season.

Assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh, striker Paollo and doctor Tri Dao returned to their headquarters and were picked up by the club. On the way from Dak Lak to Gia Lai, when arriving at Phu Quang market, Ia Hrú commune, Chu Puh district, there was an accident that killed 3 people on the spot, the driver was seriously injured - he has now been taken to the emergency by the authorities.
