NewJeans làm hành động nhói lòng, thời khắc cuối cùng dưới trướng ADOR gây bão

ADOR (under HYBE) announced that it has filed an injunction application at the Seoul Central District Court (Korea) to prevent NewJeans members from signing independent advertising contracts, while asserting the company's management rights.
According to ADOR, the order is intended to confirm that ADOR remains NewJeans' management company under its exclusive contract with the group, until a court issues a ruling on the lawsuit "determining the validity of the exclusive contract" (ADOR filed on December 3, 2024). The injunction request is also intended to prevent NewJeans members from signing endorsement deals or carrying out promotional activities without ADOR's approval or consent.
ADOR said it sought an injunction against NewJeans because members were attempting to contact advertisers or third parties to sign independent contracts, which could cause confusion and damage to third parties.
HYBE's subsidiary emphasized that if NewJeans continues its independent activities while waiting for the court to confirm the legality of the contract, restoring the original status will become impossible, seriously damaging the group's brand value and pushing ADOR into a management crisis.
ADOR asserted: "We are certain that the members' unilateral termination of the exclusive contract is invalid and this will be clarified through the trial process. However, since the final judgment may be lengthy, we have filed for an emergency injunction to prevent ongoing confusion and losses."
They expressed concern about the impact this would have on the entertainment industry: "Allowing artists to unilaterally terminate their contracts and operate independently without going through a legal process will create a dangerous precedent, reduce the incentive to invest in the entertainment industry, destabilize the K-pop market, and hinder the overall development of the industry."
ADOR affirmed that it has provided sufficient resources and facilities to support NewJeans' artistic activities and is committed to maintaining this support in the future. The company also revealed that it has completed detailed plans for the group's activities in 2025, including releasing a new album and holding fan meetings. ADOR expressed its desire to continue working closely with NewJeans to smoothly realize these plans.
Along with that, a member of NewJeans, Hanni, also got into trouble when she was accuse.d of illegal residence in Korea. An anonymous citizen recently filed a complaint with the National Civil Complaint System of Korea, accusing Hanni of illegal residence in the land of kimchi. The Seoul Immigration Office under the Ministry of Justice of Korea said: "We will take appropriate measures once the labor relationship between the parties is resolved."
Hanni has dual citizenship of Australia and Vietnam and needs to extend her E6 visa (a type of visa for foreigners entering Korea to work in the arts and entertainment industry) in order to continue to stay and work legally in Korea.
The E6 visa is usually issued for one year and is renewed annually by the management company for each artist. According to information, Hanni's visa, issued through the management company ADOR, expired around the end of last year.
There have been concerns about potential issues with Hanni's visa renewal, as she is currently in a dispute with ADOR over her exclusive contract. Visa issuance requires the involvement of a management company, so it is speculated that the long-standing conflicts between the 2004-born idol and ADOR could cause complications in her visa renewal. Hanni may not be able to seek support from ADOR or find a new management company during the dispute.
Regarding the report of illegal stay, the Seoul Immigration Office said, "It is difficult to provide details on the personal matters of a specific foreign individual related to the violation of the immigration control law."
However, they clarified that for foreign artists residing on an E6 visa, their immigration status and length of stay are determined based on their employment contracts with domestic companies. "Once the labor relationship is resolved, we will take the necessary actions," the office added.
