The just-released BABYMONSTER has caused controversy, blatantly copying BLACKPINK seniors?

Before arriving in Vietnam, BABYMONSTER did something that made fans proud. The group's popularity increased significantly after more than 1 year of debut, worthy of being " BLACKPINK's little sister".
According to YG Entertainment, the exclusive performance video for Billionaire - a song from BABYMONSTER's first full-length album - surpassed 100 million views on YouTube at around 6:30 a.m. on April 20, just about 72 days after its release.
"Billionaire" combines a trendy Y2K pop R&B sound with 808 bass and flamenco influences. The confident lyrics about the pricelessness of self-worth, combined with the vocals of 7 girls receiving love equivalent to the two title tracks "Drip" and "Clik Clak".
The performance video was also praised for its detailed expressions and distinctive visual style. Moreover, the product has seen a steady increase in views despite not being an official music video. This achievement marks BABYMONSTER's 10th video to surpass 100 million views within about a year since its official release.
At the same time, it emphasizes the rapidly expanding influence of the "little sister group BLACKPINK" on YouTube. The official channel of the YG female idols currently has 9.04 million subscribers and more than 4.3 billion cumulative views, showing that their appeal is not small.
BABYMONSTER has now launched their first world tour in their career called HELLO MONSTER and Vietnam is one of the group's destinations. With the frequency of sold-out tickets in recent years of YG groups such as BLACKPINK, 2NE1, it is not surprising that their "little sister" also chose the S-shaped strip of land to stop.
As planned, BABYMONSTER will hold a concert on May 31 in Ho Chi Minh City. However, because their name is still quite new and their influence is not as strong as their two seniors, ticket sales for the concert are quite gloomy. More than a week has passed but no ticket category has been sold out.
Some V-MONSTIEZ who live far from Ho Chi Minh City even said they are willing to go to Bangkok (Thailand) to "go to concerts" because the concert tickets and airfares are similar, and it is convenient to "go abroad" for tourism. This raises many concerns.
Notably, when checking the BABYMONSTER concert ticket distribution system on April 14, the status displayed was "stopped selling online". Previously, on the official Facebook, the concert organizers posted the status: "MONSTIEZ devil face icon, chair, soon".
Based on the emojis, it is likely that they will update the seating area for the concert of "BLACKPINK's little sister". Initially, the concert in Ho Chi Minh City was all standing tickets, completely different from the shows in many other countries that have both standing and sitting (or all sitting). This made many fans angry because they thought that the organizers and YG wanted to "cram people" as much as possible.
More importantly, the ticket prices and benefits are no different, especially compared to the concerts in Thailand - where all seats are sold. Therefore, the concert tickets in Ho Chi Minh City are considered more expensive. Many fans have called for a stop to buy them, forcing the organizers to change.
On the morning of April 17, the organizer of the BABYMONSTER concert in Vietnam announced a change. Accordingly, the entire grandstand area will be converted to seats. At the same time, a CAT 4 ticket class priced at 1.8 million VND will be added. This move was praised by fans for being timely and listening to feedback from fans.
However, V-MONSTIEZ has not completely "cooled down", saying that they will continue to fight if the organizer's changes are unreasonable. A number of tickets for the concert have been sold. Fans are worried that suddenly changing their ticket class to seats will be inconvenient if the organizer also changes the stage layout.
Amidst fans' concerns, at noon on April 19, the Organizing Committee continued to make an eye-catching announcement. That is, reducing the ticket price of BABYMONSTER concert in Ho Chi Minh City by 30.4% from 12:00 on April 21 to the end of May 4, in response to the jubilant atmosphere celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. This seemed to be supported by the majority of the group's fans, but in reality, it received the opposite reaction.
