NewJeans "played a trick" that made ADOR "humble himself", emotionally speaking heartfelt words to fans

After the press conference announcing the departure of 5 NewJeans members from the company, ADOR immediately took action to deny it, announcing that the exclusive contract was still valid and affirming that NewJeans' unilateral departure was not a basis for termination.

On the evening of November 28, 5 members of Kpop gir.l group NewJeans ( Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) held an emergency press conference, announcing the termination of their exclusive contract with management company ADOR (under HYBE Group), starting from November 29.

Previously, on November 13, NewJeans sent a notice letter to ADOR, requesting the company to correct any serious violations of the exclusive contract within 14 days from the date of receipt of the letter, otherwise the group would terminate the contract. However, ADOR's response letter was only sent to NewJeans about 1 hour before the press conference began.

At the beginning of the press conference, Hanni said that the reason they held an emergency press conference was because HYBE and ADOR still had no goodwill to resolve the group's requests, until today's working hours ended.

"NewJeans is an artist under ADOR, and ADOR has the responsibility to protect NewJeans. However, ADOR does not have the will or ability to carry out this responsibility. Continuing to stay here will only waste time and cause further mental damage. The five of us feel there is no reason to continue staying in ADOR" - Hanni said.

After the press conference, ADOR expressed regret at NewJeans' decision, stated that the contract was still valid and hoped the group could meet with the company to discuss it again.

ADOR affirmed: "The exclusive contract between ADOR and NewJeans is still valid. We request that NewJeans continue to work with us according to the agreed schedule." This made the audience extremely surprised and confused because it contradicted the members' statements.

In addition, ADOR also expressed its desire to continue its contract with NewJeans: "We have repeatedly requested to meet with the artists, but these efforts have been unsuccessful. We hope that NewJeans will be open and meet with us for an honest discussion. ADOR remain.s committed to supporting NewJeans in their development as global artists."

However, looking at NewJeans' tough stance and strong statements at the press conference held on November 28, fans believe that the possibility of the group accepting to continue the contract with ADOR is very low.

During the press conference, in addition to announcing the termination of the contract with ADOR, NewJeans attracted attention when saying: "We did not violate the exclusive contract and have tried our best in all activities. Therefore, we do not need to pay any penalty fees. On the contrary, ADOR and HYBE are the parties responsible for paying those contract penalties."

NewJeans said they will still complete their previously scheduled activities and advertising contracts. At the same time, they expressed their determination to fight to own the group name NewJeans after leaving ADOR.

On November 29 (Korean time), NewJeans members shared heartfelt messages to fans on their community platform, Phoning, following the announcement of the termination of their exclusive contracts with ADOR and HYBE.

Member Minji wrote: "Bunnies (official fandom name), you worked hard today. This is just the beginning for us. Even if we can't meet on Phoning anymore, don't worry too much - we'll find a way to come back soon."

Hyein said, "Starting tomorrow, we may not be able to connect on Phoning. Please don't worry, we will find other ways to communicate. Let's get through this difficult time together, Bunnies."

"We did everything we could. Consider this a short break. When we come back, we will surprise everyone again," Hanni added.
