Recently, social networks erupted in controversy when the Miss Grand International ( MGI ) homepage posted information about the new Miss Peace International coming to Vietnam to attend the Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 Final.

Instead of receiving positive attention, the post faced a wave of fierce criticism because the accompanying image showed that the map of Vietnam lacked two important archipelagos, the Paracels and the Spratlys.

This is a sensitive and misleading detail, because the Paracel - Spratly Islands have long been affirmed as an inseparable part of Vietnam's territory. The use of a flawed map by an international organization like MGI makes the online community even more angry, saying that this is an act of disrespect. Not stopping there, many viewers also pointed out that the image of the Vietnamese flag was placed right in a sensitive position on the Miss. This expression is considered less sophisticated, even more "pouring more oil on the fire" in the wave of outrage.

In response to the harsh reaction from the public, the Miss Grand International homepage removed the original post and replaced it with another image with the addition of the two archipelagos, but the national flag was still placed in a position that was difficult to accept.
