Unable to resolve the 'conflict', chairman Nawat 'straightforwardly' sued his runner-up

On September 6, on his personal website, Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil - Chairman of Miss Grand International - publicized details of the litigation related to the beauty Pich Votey Saravody, the 5th runner-up of Miss International Peace 2022. This incident quickly caused a stir in the beauty world and ignited the already simmering conflicts between the two.

The litigation stems from a business cooperation agreement between Mr. Nawat's cosmetics unit and Pich Votey Saravody, which was signed in 2022. According to the agreement, Mr. Nawat's representative Ms. Phichanan will be responsible for investing in cosmetics, while Pich Votey Saravody will be the exclusive distributor in the Cambodian market. The two sides have agreed on a profit split ratio of 50/50.

By June 2024, Mr. Nawat's factory handed over to Pich Votey Saravody a shipment of cosmetics including CC Cream, emulsion cream, sunscreen and silk screen printing molds, with a total value of 123,000 baht. However, after receiving the goods, Pich Votey Saravody suddenly said that it was not the same as the original prototype. She refused to sell the shipment and asked the company for 60,000 baht in compensation. Although Ms. Phichanan agreed to the compensation and offered to receive the goods back, Pich Votey Saravody still insisted on retaining the entire shipment, refusing to return it. This impasse lasts until August 30, 2025.

In the face of this lack of cooperation, Mr. Nawat's company accused Pich Votey Saravody of intentionally appropriating property and formally submitted a complaint to the investigating agency, requesting that she be prosecuted for embezzlement. This legal move not only pushed the conflict between the two parties to the peak but also caused a major scandal.

The lawsuit comes after Nawat stripped Pich Votey Saravody of the title of 5th runner-up. The Miss Grand International organizers said that this decision was made because she had seriously violated ethical rules, namely spreading false information and making offensive statements. These behaviors have negatively affected the reputation and reputation of Miss Grand International. The organization considered this unacceptable behavior and revoked the title immediately, without prior notice. Along with that, Mr. Nawat's side also asked Saravody not to use the deprived title and to remove all related images and videos on media platforms.
