Miss Grand Cambodia held a press conference, livestreamed 3 hours to accuse Mr. Nawat

In recent days, the noise surrounding the 12th edition of Miss Grand International has shown no signs of abating. The incident of Miss Grand Cambodia being stripped of its co-hosting rights has caused a stir on social media.

After returning to Thailand, the president of Miss Grand International both livestreamed and held a press conference to speak out for the last time about the scandal with the host Cambodia. Mr. Nawat accused the Cambodian team of being unprofessional, lying and "cheating". The president also affirmed that he had a lot of evidence in hand and was responsible for what he said.

The press conference was attended by former Miss Grand Cambodia National Director - Ms. Sokhunthea, Miss Grand Cambodia 2024 - Sotheary Bee and several representatives of the team. The press conference lasted nearly 3 hours and was broadcast live on the official website of Miss Grand Cambodia.

Ms. Sokhunthea said that Mr. Nawat had continuously criticized her and that the person who initiated the proposal to cancel the contract with the Cambodian team was the president of Miss Grand International. Ms. Sokhunthea also criticized Miss Grand Thailand 2024 for lying to the media about the event on the yacht. The former national director of Miss Grand Cambodia questioned Malin for knowing that there was a lack of food on the yacht but why she still decided to get on the boat. Ms. Sokhunthea also "exposed" Miss Grand Thailand for filming a clip of her dancing when she returned to the country but when she met the media, she cried profusely and looked pitiful.

The former Miss Grand Cambodia national director confirmed that the event on the yacht was at Mr. Nawat's request. Regarding the reason the boat was late because of the rain, Ms. Sokhunthea said that she had arranged another venue but Mr. Nawat still insisted on getting on the boat and criticized the Cambodian team for not preparing properly. After Ms. Sokhunthea spoke up, the staff continued to go on stage and criticize Mr. Nawat with similar content.

Finally, when it was Miss Grand Cambodia 2024's turn to speak, Sotheary Bee also burst into tears and said: "The reason for withdrawing from Miss Grand International 2024 is my personal decision. During the days in Cambodia, I saw the disrespect that the Miss Grand International team had towards our country. We love this contest very much and never wanted any drama like the current one, but in the end, after organizing it, we received shame from Miss Grand International.

I represent the country in the competition, not myself, so I cannot pretend not to see the disrespectful things that Mr. Nawat's team did to us. That is the reason why I will not compete anymore. This is a conflict between the two Miss organizations, but it is difficult to understand Mr. Nawat's actions when he wants to make my country look bad in the eyes of everyone in the world. We have no ill will towards Thai people, but we hate Mr. Nawat's competition."

Earlier, at a press conference after returning home, Mr. Nawat said that Miss Grand Cambodia had talked to him and expressed her desire to go to Thailand to continue the competition. However, the members of the Miss Grand Cambodia team did not agree and forced Sotheary Bee to drop out of the competition. Mr. Nawat said he did not blame Sotheary Bee because he understood that she had to follow the arrangements of her representatives.

Mr. Nawat accused the national director of Miss Grand Cambodia of being irresponsible and hiring inexperienced staff, causing work to stagnate. Regarding the meal on the boat, the president of Miss Grand International said it was a very embarrassing moment.
