The Bangkok Post reported that the Thai Cessna Caravan C208 (HS-SKR) crashed into a mangrove forest in Bang Pakong district, Chachoengsao province at 3:18 p.m. A witness said he heard an explosion before the plane crashed.
Nine people on board, including the Thai pilot and co-pilot, two Thai passengers and five Chinese passengers, are believed to have died. The Chinese Embassy in Bangkok quoted local officials as confirming that five of its citizens had died.
