Lang Nu village, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province is one of the areas severely affected by natural disasters caused by storm No. 3 YAGI. The dangerous flood swept away the entire village, taking the lives of many people.
Faced with the pain and loss of our people, recently, a YouTube channel named "Little Lessons" posted a video with extremely offensive and provocative content and title, causing public and media outrage and anger.
It is known that the owner of this channel posted a video titled "Retribution", using a profile picture with the words "Retribution in Lang Nu Lao Cai". Even in the comment section, the channel "Small Lessons" pinned the comment: "Did you see the retribution of eating pythons in Lang Nu?".
The insensitive actions and dirty "view-baiting, like-baiting" of this channel have sparked outrage among netizens, many of whom believe that it is a "heartless" action to attract views on the pain of their fellow countrymen. Immediately after that, many pages and groups on Facebook posted about this YouTube channel, and at the same time called for reporting violations of the video (which has been deleted) and this channel to YouTube.
This offensive video is actually a story completely unrelated to Lang Nu village, but tells the story of a tiger returning to the village to destroy and harass the people. And the photo with the title that angered netizens is an illustration for the video, cut from the content of this cartoon but intentionally inserted a thoughtless, offensive sentence.
Currently, users cannot find the YouTube channel "Little Lessons" and its fanpage on Facebook. Although the channel has been locked, many netizens have taken screenshots of the video content and detailed information about this YouTube channel.
Many netizens expressed their anger as follows: "Which channel is banned? Haven't the people suffered enough that they still speak so bitterly? Too offensive and dangerous. Really miserable! Why can this YouTube channel post this content!; I have been following this page for a long time, but from now on I will not follow it anymore because of the cruel title, don't sell your conscience just to make a few coins;...".
Journalist Ngo Ba Luc expressed: "Last night, I read this story online and I was so angry that I couldn't sleep. While the people in the flood area were in such a state of grief. While many families lost everything, both their lives and their property, the pain cannot be described in words. While the whole country, from the Prime Minister to elementary school children from all over the country, were all looking to the flood areas, from visiting and providing relief to wrapping cakes, cooking rice, donating money and clothes to support the people, trucks from the West, from the Central Highlands to the delta provinces carrying so many goods to the flood areas,... an educational channel insulted the pain of our people, taking advantage of the "hotness" of the keyword "Lang Nu" to create content to attract views for their own benefit. Truly cruel and insensitive".
A network member said: "Not every accident or disaster is a result of karma. For example, when a natural disaster occurs and the entire village is supposed to be empty, because of good karma, some people still survive. That is, the explanation, even spiritual ones, needs to be based on the source, development, consequences/results, which in spirituality is called fate. Good fate and bad fate, not just every misfortune is bad karma."
"While the whole country is looking towards Nu village with infinite sorrow, a YouTube channel for children posted a video titled "Karma for Nu Lao Cai Village". This is an extremely offensive, unethical act and completely disrespectful to the pain of the victims and their families.
Using this tragic event to attract views and attention with such distorted content not only hurts the community's spirit but also negatively impacts the awareness of children, who should be educated about compassion, empathy and respect for others. We cannot remain silent in the face of distorted and insensitive content like this. We need to strongly condemn and punish appropriately," another person commented.
"I think this channel should disappear from social media platforms. Parents whose children often watch this channel should block them from watching it to avoid negative content like this affecting their children," one parent commented.
Or some others expressed the need for the authorities to intervene: "The police should intervene in this matter. The current pursuit of views and likes is too disregardful of ethics and the law"; "How could cyber security allow this clip to be posted? How dare they trample on other people's pain. Whoever made this clip must be severely punished".
Previously, the YouTube channel "Little Lessons" had about 324,000 subscribers with more than 1,000 publicly posted videos, the content told life stories from fairy tales to point out "lessons" in life, the channel's viewers were children with simple cartoon drawings. This incident made many people angry because of the content "attracting views, attracting likes" from the pain and loss of our people in Lang Nu.
