ILLIT was accused of plagiarism amid clan controversy, denying all previous achievements

ILLIT encountered a new life after being named by Min Hee Jin, the newly released song was not well received, and was also accused of plagiarizing a song released 6-7 years ago by the American artist.

Recently, ILLIT – HYBE's new girl group released the second music video in E.P's debut Super Real Me - Lucky Girl Syndrome. ILLIT was launched by BELIFT LAB – a subsidiary of HYBE on March 25 with a Magnetic-themed MV. The group quickly "flipped" the music charts, achieved Perfect All-Kill and entered the Billboard Hot 100 in just the first month of operation. Conceding the victory, BELIFT LAB released more music videos for the b-side Lucky Girl Syndrome.

The MV for Lucky Girl Syndrome was filmed simply with a youthful, urban concept. ILLIT embodies the luckiest girls, bright clear images in the right direction the group is pursuing. However, ILLIT encountered many "tribulations" during the promotion of this song. Lucky Girl Syndrome also "lost" on the charts, low discussion because it was taken over by the corporate drama.

All 3 groups ILLIT, NewJeans, LE SSERAFIM belong to HYBE Group but belong to different subsidiaries. Specifically, ILLIT is under Belift Lab, NewJeans is under ADOR and LE SSERAFIM is under Source Music. Many opinions say that although the same HYBE corporation, having surprisingly coinciding choreography is not immune to the question of plagiarism.

Meanwhile, netizens also erupted in controversy that this cannot be considered a homage act (a product to pay tribute to the artist with similarities and characteristics of the original artist): "I thought ILLIT added the choreography of those groups to show that they are a group under HYBE. But it seems they didn't ask permission from those groups before using the choreography."
