All three music groups, ILLIT, NewJeans, and LE SSERAFIM, belong to the HYBE group but belong to different subsidiaries. Specifically, ILLIT belongs to Belift Lab, NewJeans belongs to ADOR and LE SSERAFIM belongs to Source Music. Many opinions say that even though they are the same HYBE group, having surprisingly similar choreography cannot avoid suspicion of plagiarism.

Notably, CEO Park Ji Won encouraged the employees of two subsidiaries ADOR - manager of the NewJeans group, and Belift Lab - manager of the ILLIT group, to continue working normally, trying to keep the artists from affected by the incident.

"We hope you don't feel worried and try your best in your current role for the return and development of NewJeans" - CEO Park Ji Won told ADOR staff.
