High school principal died while swimming in the sea in Da Nang

Bathing in the sea early in the morning, a principal of a high school in Hai Chau district (Da Nang) unfortunately drowned and died.

At around 4:15 on April 19, at Sao Bien beach (My An ward, Son Tra district), the rescue force of the Management Board of Son Tra peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches received information that people were affected by waves. The sea washed away, so the search operation was immediately launched.

The victim was identified as Mr. PH, principal of a high school in Hai Chau district (Da Nang).

At about 5 o'clock on the same day, the teacher's body was washed ashore by the waves and was discovered by the functional forces and handed over to his family to take care of the aftermath.

According to research, the victim had a habit of bathing early when the functional forces were not on duty.

On April 10, a drowning accident in the sea in Phuoc Tinh commune, Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province caused 1 death and 4 survivors were fortunately saved.

On the evening of April 9, a group of 10 young people who are workers of an enterprise in Ho Chi Minh City went to the sea of Phuoc Tinh commune to rent a room during a holiday trip. At 8 am on April 10, 5 people in this group tried to go to the beach to bathe, but were prevented by security because of the big waves.

The group of 5 young people left to another beach area about 100m away and went swimming. Big waves swept all 5 away from the shore. Local people tried to rescue and brought 4 people ashore for first aid and taken to the hospital, including one person in a deep coma. The 5th person is missing. This person's body was found at noon on April 10, a few hundred meters from the scene.

During this rescue, Lieutenant Thai Ngo Hieu, an officer of the Trang Bom Area Fire and Rescue Team (under the Police Department of Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue, Dong Nai Provincial Police Department) received many compliments. He and his family were present at the beach in Phuoc Tinh commune during the holiday trip. When he discovered the group of people swept away by the waves, he and the brave local people saved 4 young people.

It is known that the artificial rocky shore - the area where the victims bathed in the sea is about 40m long, more than 30m from the shore. The inside of the rocky shore had no waves, at first the victims gathered there, then they encountered unusually large waves, so they clung to each other and were swept away by the waves.

Swim to the place, Mr. Hieu climbed up the rocky shore, looked down, and saw that the group was dying. Waves swept them out to sea more than 10m from the rocky shore. In it, a girl fainted, was hugged by a young man.

Mr. Ngo Hieu, jumped down, swam to the place and hit the young man's hand hard, separating the two. He pulled the girl and pushed 2 other young men to the shore at the same time.

Lieutenant Hieu said, this is not the first time he has saved people. Currently working at the Fire and Rescue Team in Trang Bom area, Dong Nai province, he and his teammates have performed hundreds of times to save lives. Last year, he was voted as a typical individual in the work of Fire Prevention and Rescue.

After saving the group of friends, Ngo Hieu knew that there was still one more person who was swept away by the waves. Immediately, he coordinated with the local rescue team to search. About 30 minutes later, people reported finding the victim's body drifting about 500m away from the crash site.

"I'm sorry, the joy is not complete because I couldn't save everyone," said the Fire Police Lieutenant.
