Hanoi: A young man was hit by a train and died while talking on the phone near the tracks

Initial information, the accident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on March 16 in the area opposite house number 1333 Giai Phong Street, Hoang Liet Ward, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi. At that time, the SE1 train, when arriving at Km6 500 in the Giap Bat - Van Dien area (Hanoi), collided with a man, causing the victim to be seriously injured.
After the collision, the ship crew organized first aid but due to the severity of the injury, the victim did not survive. The ill-fated young man was identified as Mr. NVT (born in 1997, residing in Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa province).
According to people at the scene, before the tragic accident, Mr. T. was on the phone near the train tracks. When the train was approaching, there was a warning siren. An "emergency brake" was used to stop the train, but because the distance was too close, the train hit the victim.
Upon receiving the news, Hoang Mai District Police were present to protect the scene and coordinate with authorities to clarify the traffic accident. The case is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
In 2016, there was a similar train accident, the victim was on the phone and was hit by a train. The incident happened at about 7:45 a.m. on December 6, on the North-South railway line passing through Nghi Lien commune, Vinh city, Nghe An. The victim was identified as Mr. Pham Van M. (born in 1956, residing in Nghi Loc district, Nghe An).
Accordingly, around the above time, Mr. Pham Van M. was on his way to work when he stopped over the railing on the other side of the tracks to answer the phone and go to the bathroom. At the same time, freight train number HH3 traveling towards Hanoi - Vinh City suddenly arrived.
Discovering the incident, people tried to shout a signal but Mr. M. still could not hear. As a result, the victim was hit by the train and dragged more than 50 meters, passing away on the spot. Upon receiving information, the authorities immediately arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation to clarify the cause of the incident.
Also in Nghe An, on March 11, 2024, a traffic accident involving a train occurred. Accordingly, at about 12:30 on the same day, the North-South train SE8 was traveling in the South-North direction. When it reached km304 500, My Ly - Quan Hanh area (Nghi Loc district, Nghe An), suddenly there was a truck ahead. via railway.
The truck was hit by a train, crushing the cabin and then overturning. The train's head was also seriously damaged, including one train car that was derailed. Fortunately, the accident did not cause any casualties.
It is known that this truck was transporting sand for a project in the area. Even though the road was full of signs prohibiting cars, the truck driver ignored it and still drove onto the forbidden road and then crossed the railway.
Faced with the increase in railway traffic accidents in recent times, the Ministry of Transport sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of provinces and cities where the railway passes through, requesting the implementation of solutions to improve public efficiency. Ensuring railway order and traffic safety, contributing to preventing and limiting railway traffic accidents.
Specifically, the Ministry of Transport requested the People's Committees of provinces and cities to prepare documents and submit them to competent authorities for approval of projects to build feeder roads and separation fences along the railway to remove self-opening paths. At the same time, priority will be given to allocating funds from local budget sources or reporting to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance to arrange central budget to implement the elimination of self-opened railway paths.
While waiting for the removal, units need to arrange police personnel at self-opening paths at risk of traffic accidents, post warning signs, road vehicle restriction signs, and narrow the width. , clear visibility, install lights, build speed bumps to warn.
