Horrible accident in Lang Son: The bus driver and the victim recounted in shock

The Traffic Police Department said the bus driver was Quach Dinh Trong (born in 1966, residing in Ha Tu, Ha Long, Quang Ninh). Mr. Trong drove a 16-seat car carrying 15 passengers to church in Lang Son province.

At around 2:00 a.m., this 16-seat car suddenly crashed into a tractor with a broken engine parked on the side of the road driven by driver Nguyen Van Tuan (born in 1985, in Hiep Hoa, Bac Giang). "The damaged vehicle has a warning sign placed on the rear, about 16 meters from the rear of the vehicle," according to the Traffic Police Department.

After that, the passenger car continued to collide with another tractor driven by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Bao (born in 1996, in Binh Dinh), going in the opposite direction. It was dark and there were no street lights, so it hit the left rear of a container truck parked on the side of the road," the Traffic Police Department said.

As a result of the continuous collision, the 16-seater car was seriously damaged, 4 people were injured on the spot, 1 person died at the hospital and 9 injured people were taken to the emergency room. Quick test results showed that the 3 drivers driving the vehicle in the accident had no alcohol or drug levels in their bodies.

Talking to PV Tuoi Tre Online, Mr. Bui Quoc Khanh - Chairman of Huu Lung District People's Committee said that the victims were traveling in a 16-seat car, and the vehicle driver was injured. At dawn the same day, they went to mass in the district, then returned more than 2 hours later when they encountered an accident.

Mr. Khanh also added that the victims were people in Ha Long, Quang Ninh province. Currently, a number of people are being treated at the Chi Lang District and Huu Lung District Medical Centers. A more serious victim was transferred to Viet-German Hospital (Hanoi).

Until recently, the 16-seat driver, Mr. Quach Dinh Trong, was injured in his leg and is working with the investigation agency to clarify the incident. Mr. Trong affirmed that there were no signs of drowsiness while driving and that he had been a driver for a long time, since 1986.

Recalling the terrifying moment, Mr. Trong said: "On October 30, a group of guests rented a car and I was the driver to take them from Ha Long and Quang Ninh to Lang Son to attend the ceremony. Last night, when everyone was doing During the holiday, I slept in the car to gain strength because the plan was to return at night.

After everyone finished the ceremony, they got in the car and left. While on the road, I saw a piece of wood the size of my wrist placed about 15m away from the tractor. Near the rear of the vehicle there were a few tree branches but no warning signs or reflectors at all. 50 meters away, when I discovered this, there was a container truck going in the opposite direction. I braked and steered out of the way, but it was too late."

Still shocked after the accident, Ms. Le Thi Nhan (residing in Quang Hanh ward, Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province) was in pain when she lost her 32-year-old son. With a blank face, Ms. Nhan choked up as she recounted the moment the passenger car collided with a container truck going in the opposite direction.

"At that time, the group returned from the ceremony. We left yesterday morning in Ha Long. We had to return at night to get to work in time because the bus was full of workers and laborers. We took this bus and felt secure because it was a long trip. Then I believed, so everyone got on the bus and everyone was tired and fell asleep.

Just falling asleep, an accident happened. At that time, there was a lot of chaos, people couldn't breathe, people were stuck without an ambulance, it was very scary. Now I have to go home and take care of my son's funeral. I'm waiting for the car to go home but now I can't walk, all my ribs are broken."

Regarding the serious accident, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Official Telegram No. 1033 directing relevant authorities to overcome the consequences.
