In the questioning section, the plaintiff's lawyer asked many questions to determine whether Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan was the adopted child or biological child of Mr. Vo Van Ngoan.

Answering the lawyer's question, Ms. Loan said that her birth certificate only identified her as the legal child of Mr. Vo Van Ngoan.

In the process of living, Mr. Ngoan never said that she was his adopted child. When she was a child, Mr. Ngoan was the one who took care of her.

There was no conflict between her and Mr. Ngoan. When she was 17 years old, she got married but still went back and forth to Mr. Ngoan's house.

Next, the lawyer asked Ms. Vo Thi Hong Nhung. Ms. Nhung said that in 1987, Ms. Loan was brought back to her family for adoption. After her mother died, her family raised Ms. Loan.

"According to the adoption certificate and birth certificate, my brother accepted Hong Loan as his child. I affirm that my brother has never done any paperwork for Ms. Hong Loan. For the reason that my brother at that time was very famous and sang a lot, he didn't do any paperwork.

The People's Committee headquarters is only 15m away, if my brother takes the initiative to adopt this girl, he must take the initiative to do the paperwork. The time to do the paperwork is Saturday and Sunday, my brother is very busy," Ms. Nhung said.

Ms. Nhung said that Mr. Ngoan was sad about Hong Loan and decided to kick Ms. Loan out of the house. She has always been Hong Loan's protector.

Regarding the reason why she filed a lawsuit, Ms. Nhung said that because all the papers were illegal. Mr. Ngoan does not have the first inheritance, so she and her brother, Mr. Vo Van Nhieu, are the second inheritance.

"My family and I have carried Ms. Hong Loan for many years, but Ms. Hong Loan behaved very cruelly, kicked me out of the house, so I had to ask the law to protect me," Ms. Nhung said crying.

The chairman reminded during the questioning process that the parties must not use words that insult each other.

Next, the lawyer asked Ms. Le Thi Hong Phuong. Ms. Phuong said that Mr. Ngoan told her about the house when he was born. In 2017, when Mr. Ngoan was sick, he told many people many times and asked her to record a clip for keeping.

In 2021, after the COVID-19 epidemic, Mr. Ngoan asked her and her mother to move back to this house. After Mr. Ngoan died, Ms. Loan said that she transferred the house to Ms. Loan's name and kicked her and her mother out of the house.

After 1 day of trial, the People's Court of Ho Chi Minh City rejected all of Ms. Hong Nhung's request to cancel Hong Loan's adoption certificate and birth certificate, issued by the People's Committee of Phu Nhuan district on March 21, 1992.

At the same time, the court also rejected the request to cancel the inheritance declaration made by Ms. Loan on April 7, 2023 at the notary office for the property of the late artist Vu Linh.

The Board of Directors declared that Ms. Vo Thi Hong Loan is the only heir in the first line of inheritance of Mr. Vo Van Ngoan, namely the stage name Vu Linh. However, the court recognized Ms. Nhung's efforts in the process of creating the late artist's property.

Accordingly, Ms. Nhung is entitled to 15% of the value of the inheritance, the rest (85%) belongs to Ms. Loan. The court said that during the time artist Vu Linh went to perform, Ms. Nhung was the one who stayed at home to take care of her mother, creating conditions for him to build his career and family assets with peace of mind.

Currently, Ms. Loan has completed the procedure for changing the name of the house at No. 5 Doan Thi Diem, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City and a land plot in Thu Duc city. However, for the land plot of more than 3,000 m² in Linh Dong ward, Thu Duc and the car left by artist Vu Linh, if Ms. Loan does not fulfill the obligation to pay 15% of the heritage value to Ms. Nhung, these assets will be distributed to settle interests.
