The serious incident in which a mother and daughter were attacked by criminals while on their way to buy pigs in Xuan Ai commune has shocked the public, especially in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year). Currently, the authorities have taken new action.

According to information from the People's Committee of Xuan Ai commune, on January 19th, immediately after receiving a report from the police, the local authorities coordinated to cordon off the scene, conduct a post-mortem examination, and collect relevant evidence to serve the investigation and clarify the suspected murder case that occurred in the commune.

However, by late evening, the two had not returned, and the family was extremely worried after numerous attempts to contact them by phone.

The search was carried out urgently throughout the night, focusing on suspicious areas, places with little traffic, and locations related to the pig trading activities that the victim intended to conduct.

During the search, authorities discovered the body of a woman with several signs suggesting she had been murdered. Initial verification identified the victim as Ms. TTH (42 years old, residing in Goc So village, Mau A commune). However, no evidence linking her to her daughter was found at the scene.

Undeterred, the search team continued to expand their search area around where the body was found. Around 1:30 AM on January 19th, the search team unexpectedly discovered the child, the victim's daughter, buried under the rubble. When rescued, she was still breathing but very weakly. She was immediately taken to the nearest medical facility for emergency care and treatment. After a period of coma, she is now out of critical condition and her health is gradually recovering. According to initial information, the victim, TTH, was a worker at a cinnamon processing factory in the area. On the morning of January 18th, she went to work as usual. In the afternoon of the same day, she took her daughter, VVT (born in 2020), to Xuan Ai commune to see her pigs. It is understood that Ms. H. intended to buy pigs to sell and earn extra income during the upcoming Tet holiday. However, this trip turned into a fateful one, leaving immense grief for her family and loved ones.

After waiting a long time without his wife and child returning home, the husband tried to contact them by phone but was unsuccessful. Sensing something was wrong, the family quickly split up to search for them and simultaneously reported the incident to the authorities. The timely intervention of the government and the people played a crucial role in the early detection of the incident, especially in saving the child's life in critical condition.

According to local authorities, investigators have initially identified a suspect in connection with the case. At the police station, suspect Phung Tien Cao confessed to the entire crime. Due to a lack of money for personal expenses, and having a prior acquaintance with Ms. H., having introduced her several times to buy pigs in Xuan Ai commune, Cao conceived the idea of luring the victim to a deserted area to commit murder and robbery.

Specifically, on the afternoon of January 18, 2026, the suspect called Ms. H. and arranged to meet her on a rural road in Quyet Hung village, Xuan Ai commune, under the pretext of showing her pigs. Cao then lured the victim and her daughter to a cinnamon hill area, where he suddenly stabbed Ms. H. multiple times, killing her instantly and seriously injuring her daughter, Th.
