According to hospital sources, immediately after the accident, Ly Cong Chieu was urgently transferred to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital (Hanoi) for specialized treatment. Doctors determined that he suffered a closed chest injury, along with a serious wound to the perineum. These are all severe injuries with the potential for long-term effects if not treated promptly. Currently, the male model is being closely monitored in the intensive care unit.

After the identities of the nine injured people were revealed, Ly Cong Chieu's health quickly became the focus of attention on social media. Many colleagues, friends, and fans expressed their concern, constantly sending messages of support and wishing him a speedy recovery. A close friend of Ly Cong Chieu spoke out to update the situation and reassure the public. The friend stated that the male model's surgery was successful and he was out of danger.

"Mr. Chieu has undergone surgery and is currently in stable condition and undergoing recovery monitoring. Currently, the hospital only allows family members to visit, so friends haven't been able to see him in person yet. I will update everyone with more information as soon as it becomes available," a friend shared.

Earlier, on the evening of December 27th, the Lao Cai Provincial Police announced the initial investigation results regarding the cause of the tragic accident. The 24-seat passenger bus, license plate 29B-614.06, carrying a volunteer group, was traveling on National Highway 32 when it suddenly experienced a serious incident at Km 35 – the section connecting to Provincial Road 174 in Phinh Ho commune. According to preliminary investigations, the vehicle showed signs of brake failure while descending a slope, leading to the driver losing control of the speed.

The section of road where the accident occurred is considered to have particularly dangerous terrain. It's an S-shaped curve with two consecutive bends, a concrete surface, and an estimated gradient of about 18%. As the vehicle passed the top of the slope and descended the long incline, the braking system suddenly failed, causing the vehicle to accelerate rapidly, roll freely, crash into the guardrail, and overturn. The impact was so strong that many people in the vehicle didn't have time to react.

The accident was particularly serious, resulting in 8 fatalities at the scene, while the driver, D.D.T (65 years old, residing in Hanoi), died during emergency treatment at the hospital. In addition, 9 others sustained serious injuries and were taken to medical facilities for treatment. Among them was model Ly Cong Chieu, a member of a volunteer group dedicated to helping people in mountainous regions.

The incident has shocked public opinion nationwide. On social media platforms, thousands of posts expressing condolences and sorrow over the deaths of the victims have been shared. Many people also sent words of encouragement, praying that the injured victims, including Ly Cong Chieu, would soon overcome their critical condition and recover their health.

According to information from the People's Committee of Phình Hồ commune, by approximately 9:30 PM on the same day, the bodies of the deceased victims had been handed over to their families for burial. The Lao Cai provincial government quickly deployed support measures, deciding to allocate 50 million VND for each deceased victim and 5 million VND for each injured victim, to help alleviate some of the loss and difficulties faced by the families.
