After storm No. 6 passed, a beach in Da Nang was unexpectedly blessed by heaven. Many people rushed to pick it up, creating an extremely bustling scene. Just spend a little time and effort and you will be warm and full all day.
On October 28, after storm No. 6 swept through, at Nguyen Tat Thanh beach (Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city), big waves washed a large number of green mussels, clams, and cockles ashore. Discovering the incident, dozens of people brought tools such as baskets, bags, etc. to collect the "sea blessings", making the entire beach of more than 100m long bustling.
In the morning, due to the large amount of mussels, in a short time, each person can catch several kilograms of green mussels. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (residing in Thanh Khe district), this is the first time he has seen so many green mussels washed ashore. In about 20 minutes, the man had picked up about 2 kilograms of mussels.
"A lot of mussels from the sea were washed ashore by the waves. This morning, someone went early and caught a few dozen kilos. The price of 1 kilo of mussels sold at the market is about 70,000 VND, but I only picked them up to improve my family's meals and share with my brothers and neighbors," Mr. Hung shared.
Sharing the same excitement, Ms. Hoang Thi Linh (residing in Thanh Khe district) said that in the morning when her husband was fishing in this area, he discovered many people picking green mussels, so he called her and many people in the neighborhood to come pick them up.
"I don't know where the mussels came from, but they are very fresh and have a lot of meat. This type of seafood can be prepared in many ways, but my favorite is steaming it with lemongrass. This is truly a blessing from the sea," said Linh.
At 3 p.m., there were still more than a dozen people picking mussels on the beach. Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (55 years old, living in Lien Chieu district) said she rode her motorbike nearly ten kilometers to Nguyen Tat Thanh beach to pick mussels. The result after three hours was about 15kg of mussels and some clams. "The mussels were still fresh, I tried splitting a few and found that the meat was very full," Ms. Huong said.
These images, after being spread on social networks, attracted the attention of many netizens. Many people expressed their excitement and also wanted to experience it. "Seeing people picking them up makes me want to participate"; "This is great to bring home to grill with scallion oil and cheese"; "This is the first time I've seen a storm pass and leave such a big fortune"; "Spend some time picking them up, you'll be warm and full all day"...
Also today, Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company said it had just organized a transfer for all passengers of the SE7 train running from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City that had to temporarily stop at Dong Hoi station. The reason was that some sections of the railway line were deeply flooded after the impact of storm No. 6.
According to this unit, the railway section through Quang Binh province is safe and ensures train operation, but the section through Sa Lung station, Quang Tri province is deeply flooded, threatening train safety. Therefore, the authorities decided to temporarily stop trains from Hanoi to Dong Hoi station and from the South to Dong Ha station (Quang Tri) and organize free transfers for passengers to overcome difficulties caused by natural disasters.
From 7:00 p.m. last night (October 27) until early morning of October 28, all 321 passengers of train SE7 were taken to 7 passenger cars to transfer to Dong Ha station to continue their journey. In the opposite direction, hundreds of passengers on trains SE2, SE4, SE6 were transported by many cars from Dong Ha station to Dong Hoi station to travel to the North.
This morning, many passenger cars were present at Dong Hoi station to prepare to transfer passengers on the North-South train scheduled to arrive at the station at 4:30 p.m. According to Quang Binh Railway Joint Stock Company, the flood situation in Quang Binh and Quang Tri is still complicated, the unit will continue to implement measures to ensure absolute safety for passengers traveling by rail.
