The internet has been abuzz over the past few hours with a clip of a group of elementary school girls smoking and swearin.g in school. Their behavior has shocked many parents.

Regarding the incident that caused a stir on social networks, on the morning of March 31, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province said that they had received information and a video clip recording a group of female students from an elementary school in Long Xuyen city smoking cigarette.s and swearin.g.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Department contacted the leaders of Long Xuyen City People's Committee to request direction for review, request the school to coordinate with parents and functional units to handle information and propagate and educate students.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training has also reminded educational institutions across the province to strengthen management, education on ethics, lifestyle, prevention of school violenc.e and the harmful effects of e-cigarettes in educational institutions.

Also this morning, speaking with Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Duong Kiem Anh - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province - confirmed the incident occurred at Le Hong Phong Primary School, My Thoi Ward, Long Xuyen City.

According to Mr. Kiem Anh, the school invited parents to come up to find a solution, but only 2-3 people came. These children were not cared for because their parents worked far away, and one of them was at risk of dropping out of school, so he dragged other children.

"The Department of Education and Training of Long Xuyen City requires the school to educate and promote the children, because they are still too immature; at the same time, strengthen management at the school, especially the homeroom teachers must be closer to the children" - Mr. Kiem Anh informed.

Currently, the authorities and the school are continuing to coordinate to clarify the incident and take appropriate measures to prevent similar cases from happening.

Previously, a clip appeared on social media recording a group of female students, believed to be in primary school, openly smoking and swearin.g on campus. There was a female student wearing a red jacket on her head, called "Sister Lieu" by the surrounding students, who seemed to be the "ringleader".

A moment later, many other female students appeared, also holding cigarette.s in their hands, continuously putting them in their mouths to smoke and then exhaling smoke. While smoking, these students chatted. Not only that, these students also held cigarette.s to offer to other students. When one student choked on her cigarette, another student even criticized her as "too weak".
