Arissara "Alice" Srichathum, 26, disappeared after sending a threatening text message, sparking fears of a missing person case. Six days later, a mysterious phone call revealed her location, but what happened remains a mystery.
The case of Arissara "Alice" Srichathum, 26, from southern Thailand, has been making headlines for the past few days. Her sudden disappearance on January 2, after a cryptic text message, sparked fears of a missing person case. After six days of fruitless searching, an unexpected phone call brought an unexpected twist to the story.
Specifically, on January 2, Alice sent a message to close friends, expressing her fatigue with life and wanting to have time off to "heal". She admitted that she was facing depression and decided to take a leave of absence.
However, things took a turn for the worse that evening when she sent a âgoodbyeâ message that left her recipients bewildered. Alice said that she had been abducted by two unknown men and taken to a police station in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, southern Thailand. After that, no one had heard from her again. The message ended with an ominous farewell, spreading extreme fear among her family and friends.
After Alice went missing, friends and colleagues searched everywhere, from hospitals, clinics to police stations. Attempts to contact her family were also fruitless. In desperation, they appealed to the community for help via social media.
The Facebook page "Tudd Entertain" shared information about the incident, along with photos and a detailed description of Alice. The post quickly went viral, attracting the attention and concern of many netizens. The question is: Is Alice missing or simply hiding from the pressures of life?
The situation became more serious when the women's rights organization Be One, founded by Chalida "Ton Or" Palamart, decided to intervene. Chalida and her colleagues worked hard to find information about Alice. Finally, after six days of her disappearance, they received news of her.
Late one night, Chalida received a call from Alice herself. She said she was in Phetchaburi Province, southwestern Thailand. While Aliceâs reasons for being there remained a mystery, the news sparked hope in the darkness. Chalida and her team immediately set out for Phetchaburi to bring Alice back to Bangkok, where she would receive medical and psychological care.
When found, Alice showed no signs of serious injury, but she was mentally unstable and refused to share details about what had happened during her disappearance. She needed time alone to recover.
The incident has caused much controversy and speculation. Some people believe that Alice isolated herself from the world due to work and relationship pressures, seeking private space to heal the wounds of depression.
Another theory is that this was a strange disappearance, based on the information Alice provided about the two strange men and the police station. Although there were no signs of physical violence, the complete lack of communication for six days led many to believe that something was wrong.
Some psychologists also theorize that Alice's out-of-control mental state caused her to act out as a way to escape stress. In severe cases of depression, patients may act erratically, even "disappear" for no apparent reason.
Alice is currently being monitored in hospital for both her physical and mental health. The police have also launched an investigation. Although no official conclusion has been reached, the outpouring of support from the community, friends and colleagues has been instrumental in helping Alice.
