In Truong Son town, An Lao district, Hai Phong city, while trimming fallen trees with his teammates and local residents, Lieutenant Colonel Tang Ba Hung was unfortunately electrocuted. Although he received first aid and was taken to Kien An hospital for emergency treatment, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

During the Gala night, Ms. Huyen - wife of comrade Tang Ba Hung brought his medal for protecting the Fatherland, accompanied by other relatives of the soldier's family. During the Gala night of Wechoice Awards 2024, Ms. Huyen could not hold back her tears when sharing the last messages he sent her before his deat.h.

"How are you doing at home during the storm?" - until the last messages, even though he was far away on duty, he still constantly worried about the home front, the love and responsibility of a husband and father for his family.

Sharing with the press, Ms. Huyen said that this was her first time in Ho Chi Minh City and perhaps, it was also the fulfillment of the unfinished promise of the couple:

"When he was alive, we often told each other that we would definitely arrange a trip for our family to Ho Chi Minh City. The unfinished plan has not yet been realized but... I feel like when I attend this WeChoice Gala, I am going with him. I am so touched that he is still remembered. He will always live in the hearts of his family, children and the Vietnamese people..."

Ngoc Lan was all alone, both parents died, two older brothers also died, a family of 5 people lost 4, only 1 remained. Perhaps like me, many people watching TV at that time would choke up.

I am a teacher, I wonder how many more Ngoc Lans are like that. They must continue to study. They are at the ag.e where they must go to school no matter how dire the circumstances. From the image of Hoang Ngoc Lan, I thought that I should come to them to be a support for them. I contacted the brothers and sisters who are working in Lang Nu and asked them to make a list for me to raise so that the children can eat, dress and study properly," the teacher shared.

It is known that only 2 days later, the teacher received news that there were 20 students from Phuc Khanh Primary and Secondary School No. 1 sent by Vice Principal Hoa. On September 29, 30 and October 1, 2024, the working group of Marie Curie School went to each house, each school and each hospital to make a very specific list of the children. Finally, on October 1, teacher Khang had in hand a complete list of 22 children who survived the flash flood - children who from now on will become the grandchildren of "grandfather" Khang.

Every month, "grandpa" will send each grandchild 3 million VND to cover their education, starting from October 2024 until 2039. According to his calculations, the project will last 15 years, because the youngest children today will turn 18 in 2039, at which time he will also turn 90. The estimated cost is around 12 billion.
