Accordingly, in September 2024, singer Hoa Minzy expressed her desire to adopt a girl who lost 5 relatives in Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen, Lao Cai. The female singer said she would support the care and upbringing of the child. Hoa Minzy affirmed that she would not accept money from benefactors who have sent and are sending to the child. However, at that time, she shared that she was still waiting for a decision from the family because the child was still being cared for by her grandmother.

On the afternoon of October 24, Hoa Minzy shared the moment she first met the baby on her personal page. The singer revealed that she had a charity performance in Lao Cai so she stopped by the school to visit the baby. When she saw the baby, the singer from Bac Ninh could not contain her emotions.

"When she saw me, she hugged me tightly, it felt like my mother was hugging me. Little Bong, with a runny nose, ran out to greet her. I couldn't control my emotions at that time, I could only say hello and get to know her," Hoa Minzy recalled.

The singer knows that she should approach children slowly to avoid scaring them. She feels lucky that Bong is willing to hold her hand and listen to her conversation. In her eyes, Bong is a very obedient and pretty baby with a cute smile that makes you want to hug her.

"I didn't call her mother because I wasn't anything and I didn't want people to ask her questions like do you want this girl to be your mother? Because that question is sad and inappropriate for a child who just lost her mother. She probably couldn't imagine what had happened. Although she has not yet been adopted by Bong, Hoa Minzy still feels satisfied because her wish to meet her has finally come true. She told the baby's grandmother to consider her as a family member and if the family needs her, she will support her to the fullest. The singer understands the psychology of a mother who has lost her daughter, so she does not dare to rush into the matter of adopting Bong or ask too much about who will raise her. She just hopes that the family will soon find Bong's mother to arrange the funeral and feel more at ease.

The girl that Hoa Minzy adopted is named Hoang Thi Ngoc Lan, born in 2018. Ngoc Lan is the only survivor in a family of 6. Ngoc Lan's grandmother, parents, and siblings passed away in the terrible flash flood in Nu village.

Hoa Minzy is one of the artists who has been actively involved in charity work over the past time. To support people in flood-hit areas affected by storm No. 3, Hoa Minzy donated 500 million VND through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. In addition, she donated all of her personal store's revenue to support people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
