Recently, a clip appeared in the beef noodle soup to be brought home at a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. HCM found a razor knife in the food. This incident quickly caused a stir, everyone was worried what would be the consequences if unfortunately not seen?
Regarding the incident of the beef noodle shop being accused by customers of having a knife in the food, talking to a reporter of the Lao Lao Newspaper, Mrs. L. (the owner) said: " The incident has been going on for more than two months. At that time, the female diner bought 2 servings of beef noodles to take away. After taking it home, guests came to say there was a knife in the beef noodles.
At first the guest said it was a razor knife in water but later said a razor knife was in a vegetable. If I eat at a restaurant with a razor knife I'm responsible for, and take it away, I don't know what happened. I have been selling here for a long time, my customers are also quite a lot but this is the first case I have encountered. I don't need to explain because my shop is still trading normally, the customers are still supportive."
On whether a razor knife can appear in broth or vegetables, Mrs. L. added: "If there is a razor knife, it will sink at the bottom of the pot rather than float for me to scoop into a plastic bag. And if I say in vegetables, my husband washes each vegetable stalk, when taking vegetables for guests, can he not see it?"
Regarding the clip appearing online, Mrs. L. said: "Only harm will happen, but harm is not intended for anything. Now on the internet there are many games to catch likes and views.
That meal I sold to customers, not I invited the police to come down and make corn out of potatoes. But because the guest said so, I also refunded the beef noodle soup that the guest poured into the bowl.
Shop owners need to be careful about incidents at the shop, if something happens, they should call the police immediately to avoid damage."
Earlier, on August 3, a clip of a customer with a knife in a bag of beef noodles appeared online, causing many people to be upset. Specifically, according to information from Lao Lao newspaper, the clip Ms. Q.N. posted on social networks, she bought 2 servings of beef noodles at a shop on Nguyen Van Block Street (Go Vap district, Ho Chi Minh City). When she brought it home, Q.N. found a razor knife in the beef noodle soup bought at the shop. Mrs. N. brought two portions of beef noodles to "complain" to the owner.
Here, the owner is not responsible for the lam knife "appearing" in the beef noodle section because the customer has taken it out of the restaurant. To this, Mrs. N. said that it is unlikely that the razor knife is the fault of the shop, possibly the vegetable plantation.
Regarding the question of liking or deliberately "playing" the owner, Ms. N. responded on social media: "I do a spa, not a food service business, so there is no need to play so badly."
The owner confirmed that he was not responsible for the above incident and agreed to refund the beef noodle soup of VND 30,000.
Many people think that they do not know who is right and who is wrong, but when the incident happens at the restaurant, the owner must first apologize to the diners, should not argue.
"Scared, if you don't notice, or what if a child eats it," the A.T. account wrote.
Besides, some accounts claim that this is inadvertent, maybe the razor knife appeared in the grated vegetables. "I think it was accidentally dropped by the vegetable grateger, mixed in with the vegetables. The owner may not see it unintentionally, but no one will knock over their own rice bowl," T.T. account analyzed.
Account B. commented: "You brought it home and now you bring it up, who's responsible? If you eat at a restaurant, you speak freely, the owner says the same."
Another commented: "The owner is right, because there are also cases of competitive pranks on each other. She said it made sense."
According to article 156 of the 2015 Penal Code amended in 2017, if fabricating or spreading what is known to be false, in order to seriously offend the dignity and honor or damage the legitimate rights and interests of others, a fine of up to 50 million VND or imprisonment up to 7 years depending on the seriousness of the crime.
Lawyer Luu Tan Anh Toan (Director of Luu Vu Law Firm) said: "It is true that the owner thinks that he is only responsible when eating at the restaurant and brings it home and then comes to say that there is a knife and the owner is not responsible. When you take it out of the shop, there are many situations that happen. In this case, when customers bring beef noodles with lam knives, the owner should invite the police to make a report of the incident.
In case the wrong of the shop has not been proven, but customers still record clips, post them online with images of the owner and place of sale, they have violated in the field of information and communication. The owner can send an application to the HCMC Department of Information and Communications requesting intervention, removing the clip and a public apology. If the shop suffers damage due to the act of posting the clip, then sue the court for compensation."
