BabyMoster recently made fans disappointed when they were suddenly not included in the list of young artists attending the 2024 K-World Dream Awards Festival. This is a big event in Korea, but the 7 YG girls were not able to participate.
"2024 K-World Dream Awards" (formerly "Soribada Best K-Music Awards") has announced its first lineup of participating artists ahead of this year's event, scheduled to take place next month. A series of promising 5th generation K-Pop artists including NCT WISH, ILLIT, QWER, YOUNG POSSE, UNIS and BADVILLAIN will attend this year's festival, representing the future of the Korean entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, returning for the 8th consecutive year after its inauguration in 2017, the "2024 K-World Dream Awards" will take place on August 22 at Jamsil Indoor Arena in Seoul. The event will be hosted by Jun Hyun Moo and Jang Do Yeon and will be broadcast live via hellolive.
Speaking specifically about ILLIT, in 2024, they perform quite outstandingly. The group continues to prove their popularity by maintaining a presence on the US Billboard global chart for a long time.
According to the latest chart announced by Billboard, ILLIT's mini album title song "Magnetic" ranked 21st on the "Global Excl. US" chart and ranked 32nd on the "Global 200" chart, marking 15th consecutive week on the chart. Additionally, the song was included in Billboard's recent list of the "20 Best K-pop Songs of 2024 (So Far)".
ILLIT previously set an important milestone when both its debut album and debut song appeared on Billboard's two main charts. "Magnetic" is the first debut song of a K-pop group to enter the "Hot 100" and "SUPER REAL ME" - the album with "Magnetic", ranked 93rd on the "Billboard 200".
"Magnetic" has shown global popularity through various streaming metrics. The track recently surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify, achieving the fastest milestone for a K-pop girl group's debut song. The product also reached 100 million streams on Japan's Oricon chart, setting a record for the fastest achievement by a girl group.
Regarding BabyMonster's activities, the girls recently released a new MV. In this comeback, BABYMONSTER promotes the "baby" - innocent and gentle side of the group. The lyrics promote confidence and the girls take steps towards success. As a remix of Choi37 and LP, the producer duo brings a new breeze to the series of vibrant, hip-hop but old songs that BABYMONSTER previously released. FOREVER stands out with disco and synthwave materials typical of the 1980s, creating a festive music space.
Although it has been greatly reduced, in the mix you can still hear the typical percussion that YG fans are familiar with from BLACKPINK's "famous" hit series such as DDU-DU DDU-DU, How You Like That... It can be seen , YG is still extremely committed to letting BABYMONSTER inherit the global girl group. By continuing to train according to BlackPink's old model, that's why BabyMonster is considered one color, with no difference.
Most worth mentioning is still the "JYP music" that appears so clearly in BABYMONSTER's new song. The two verses are divided by an impressive rap line, helping YG's artists develop their strengths, however, the musical material is too JYP. Listening to the song, many Kpop fans think of the music of TWICE, ITZY,... even though FOREVER was produced by the YG team. The coincidence makes Kpop fans feel extremely interesting.

Not only the melody, but the MV FOREVER also gives the feeling of... JYP. Temporarily abandoning the individual "monster" image that has been built through Sheesh, Batter Up,... FOREVER honors femininity. Directed by Seunghee Son - the famous name behind a series of successful MVs such as Super Lady ((G)I-DLE), INVU (Taeyeon),... it can be seen that FOREVER brings a haughty, luxurious aspect. different, not mushy and feminine like BABYMONSTER in Stuck In The Middle.
