XG: The first Japanese girl group in Kpop, LE SSERAFIM's formidable rival, NewJeans

After each new music release, no girl group has made waves like XG. For those who don't know, XG stands for " Xtraordinary Girls". Over the past time, the group has stirred up the music industry.

XG is the first full-fledged group to debut under the entertainment company XGALX (YG Entertainment & Avex Group). The group debuted with a lineup of 7 members with Japanese nationality including: Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Juria, Cocona, Maya and Harvey.

XG released their first music product called Tippy Toes on March 18, 2022.

On May 21, 2024, XG released the single Woke Up. The theme song with a 100% rap song is well received by the public because of its novelty and uniqueness. It is rare for a girl group to choose to perform a rap-oriented product. XG's name is now also growing strongly after this comeback.

An A-list star in Vietnam openly expressed his affection for XG. Specifically, Ho Ngoc Ha shared XG's latest MV titled "Woke Up" with positive comments: "Is there anyone who is addicted to this group like Ha? Youth is too talented. A future is too bright."

In the MV "Woke Up", the scene that impresses viewers the most is probably the moment when Cocona shaves her head in front of the camera. This topic immediately caused a fever on social networks.

Member Information

Jurin is the first XG member revealed by the management company on January 29, 2022. She takes on the position of main dancer, rap lead, and is also the leader of the group. The female idol participated in the process of composing choreography for XG. She is fluent in English, Japanese, and Korean.

Jurin was a professional skier and won many awards, including fourth place in the 32nd All Japan Skiing Championships of the Aomori Ski and Snowboard Association (TSBA&KSBA). However, Jurin also has a hobby of singing and dancing since childhood, and at the same time cherishes the dream of becoming a model.

At the age of 15, Jurin realized her dream of becoming a model when she appeared in Drop Tokyo magazines, Popteen... She also participates in the Avex Artist Academy. In 2017, Jurin became a member of the band Shorty! was established to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Avex Dance Nation. Students studying at the academy with outstanding beauty and good singing and dancing skills were selected for the group.

Chisa was born in 2002 in Osaka (Japan). She is the eldest sister and the main vocalist of the group. Before becoming an idol, she worked as a model. In 2016, the female idol reached the semi-finals of the Tokyo Girls Audition and joined AVEX. Sharing with Japanese media, the female idol said that Namie Amuro is the reason why she is determined to become a singer.

The next member who was also born in 2002 is Hinata. According to Kpopnews, she used to work as a trainee of YG in Korea. Currently, the female idol takes on the position of the main dancer of XG.

Harvey was born in Tokyo (Japan). The female idol born in 2002 is a hybrid between an Australian father and a Japanese mother. According to Kprofiles, Harvey has been working as a model since high school. She debuted as a rapper and backing vocalist of the group.

Juria was born in 2004 in Osaka (Japan). She is a member of the idol group Amorecarina. After leaving the group in 2015, the female idol took the name Ueda Juria and studied at AVEX Artist Academy Tokyo. Juria currently takes on the lead singing role in XG.

The member born in 2005 is Cocona. According to Kprofiles, Cocona was a student at AVEX Artist Academy Tokyo. She is also a member of the project team called A-CE. In 2018, the female idol won the singing contest. After her debut, she took on the role of dancer and rapper of XG.

XG's youngest sister is Maya, born in 2006. According to Kprofiles, thanks to her impressive dancing skills, Maya was assigned to take on the position of XG's dancer.
