The leak of private messages between V (BTS) and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin is becoming the latest point of contention in the ongoing legal battle between HYBE Group and the female creative director.
Previously, several private conversations between V and Min Hee Jin unexpectedly surfaced in the media and on social media platforms. The content allegedly showed the idol's support for the former CEO of ADOR amidst her intense legal dispute with HYBE. The timing of the messages' public disclosure coincided with a tense period of the lawsuit, leading to much speculation about the motives behind it.
Immediately after the content went viral, V quickly spoke out to clarify and avoid misunderstandings. However, in the first few hours, a segment of the public suspected that Min Hee Jin was the one who proactively revealed the messages to solidify her position in the public eye. This suspicion intensified as the confrontation between the two sides had lasted for months and unexpected developments continued to emerge.
Responding to the media after the press conference, lawyer Kim Seong Woo, Min Hee Jin's legal representative, affirmed that the aforementioned text messages were submitted to the court as sealed documents in a lawsuit related to a put option dispute. According to him, Min Hee Jin's side had requested absolute confidentiality regarding all evidence. "We have nothing further to comment on. The documents were submitted sealed, and we requested the court to keep them confidential. We are unaware of how the content was accessed by the media. This is a matter that needs to be clarified by the relevant media outlets and the court," the lawyer emphasized.
This statement immediately shifted the focus of speculation on social media. On platform X, many fans questioned whether HYBE (the other party in the lawsuit) was involved in the leak. Some argued that the timing of the message release and the way the story was presented in the media raised many questions. However, all of this remains speculation, as there has been no official confirmation of the source of the leak to date.
Amidst ongoing controversies surrounding artists' privacy, Min Hee Jin continued to draw attention with a surprising proposal at a press conference on February 25th in Seoul. The former CEO of ADOR declared her willingness to relinquish the 25.6 billion won (approximately $18 million USD) she won in the initial trial, on the condition that HYBE cease all related civil and criminal lawsuits and close all ongoing disputes between the two parties.
Min Hee Jin's reason revolved around the girl group NewJeans under ADOR. "I can't bear to see five girls who should be happy on stage standing in a courtroom," she shared, while also calling for the withdrawal of complaints against the artists, their families, and fans. This statement quickly garnered significant attention, as NewJeans has long been considered one of the most successful groups of the new generation of K-pop.
However, just hours after the settlement offer, HYBE reportedly deposited 29.2 billion won with the district court, a move many legal experts believe could open a new round of confrontation instead of ending the conflict. This development further complicates an already complex legal landscape.
Fromis_9 was neglected by HYBE since their debut, not allowing a comeback, just for 1 reason
Quỳnh Như10:55:00 09/05/2024In the midst of the storm, New Jeans and HYBE have caused a stir recently.
