The MV "GO" and mini-album Deadline marked BLACKPINK's highly anticipated comeback after a long hiatus from releasing a group product, sparking lively discussions among young people and fans worldwide upon their release on February 27, 2026.
This is one of the group's biggest investment projects to date and also marks the 10th anniversary of the four girls' professional careers, with a completely different approach compared to their previous works.
In the MV GO, BLACKPINK breaks away from the familiar formula that helped them make their mark, such as studio shots with designer clothes and supercars. Instead, they present a ruined universe, a journey through natural disasters, oceans, and even time and space, creating a cinematic, futuristic style. The MV's grandeur comes from its special effects, recreating a multi-dimensional futuristic world along with a powerful message about unity and moving forward.
The highlight of this title track isn't just the visuals, but also the bridge performed by Rosé and Jennie, which many viewers consider the "most impactful part" of the song – the memorable and catchy melody. The electronic sound and musical structure, different from previous title tracks, make "GO" both aesthetically pleasing and open up new experimental directions in the group's musical style.
As soon as the "GO" music video was released, it quickly became a topic of debate on international music forums. Some viewers criticized the video for focusing too much on visual effects and special effects, with the actual singing and rapping taking up less than half of the video's duration, while the rest was geared towards background music and visuals. Many comments compared watching "GO" to a long instrumental piece with many impressive frames rather than a traditional music video.
While the international fan community debated the quality and meaning of the product, one detail that particularly caught the attention of Vietnamese viewers was the appearance of Vietnamese personnel in the production team of the "GO" music video, as shown in the credits at the end of the video. Many eagle-eyed viewers noticed Vietnamese names in the visual effects section – a crucial technical stage requiring meticulous attention to detail in separating the movement of each frame for post-production refinement.
Accordingly, the five Vietnamese technicians responsible for visual effects have attracted attention and been widely shared on domestic showbiz discussion groups. This team had previously worked on post-production for Kpop projects, including aespa's "Rich Man" music video, demonstrating that their expertise has been internationally recognized and entrusted with a large-scale project like BLACKPINK's.
Furthermore, the credits for the "GO" music video acknowledge a member of the ANTIANTIART team, who was responsible for coordinating the visual effects. Previously, ANTIANTIART had also been behind the visuals for other major productions, demonstrating the progress of Vietnamese technology in the global entertainment industry supply chain.
These contributions, though small details in the lengthy credits of an international music video, still fill Vietnamese audiences and the online community with pride, seeing the names of their compatriots contributing to an art product with global influence.
