A man claiming to be the biological father of the young man driving the scooter said that the driver involved quickly left the scene. This person also said that his child had a driver's license and was fortunate that he was not injured after the collision.

The accident occurred during rush hour, causing traffic congestion on To Ky road and Quang Trung overpass in the direction of Hoc Mon district to Go Vap district. When approaching the Ong Lanh bridge area (District 1), this vehicle collided with a 7-seater car traveling in the same direction, then lost control and jumped onto the median strip, hitting a signpost and signal light.

Citing news from Tien Phong newspaper, the accident caused the truck cabin to be deformed, and the male driver was trapped inside. Discovering the incident, people around smashed the windows to get the driver out but failed.
