On September 25, information from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07) of Ho Chi Minh City Police, at about 2:16 a.m. on the same day, a house in an alley on Street 2, Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, City Thu Duc (Ho Chi Minh City) suddenly caught fire. Neighbors tried to extinguish it on the spot but were unsuccessful.

After receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Thu Duc City Police dispatched many fire engines and 52 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. By 2:50 a.m., the fire was completely extinguished.

After the fire was extinguished, the authorities discovered a female body on the ground floor. The victim was identified as Ms. NTC (61 years old, a maid).

At the time of the fire, Mr. T. (45 years old, living in Binh Thanh district) was on the first floor. When he discovered the fire, he and his wife and children climbed over to the neighbor's house and escaped.

According to PC07, the initial cause was that the victim, doused in gasoline, committed suicide. A source in Tuoi Tre newspaper said the maid doused her employer's house in gasoline and burned it down because in early September, the employer announced her sudden termination. Mrs. C. has worked as a maid for the family for about 15 years.

"Maybe this maid heard the news of being fired, so she was sad and started burning the house," the source said.

In addition to killing one person, the fire damaged 50 out of 192 square meters of the house and many household appliances. Authorities are currently actively investigating the case.
