In recent days, many social networking sites have shared the story of a resident in Ha Long City who painted his familyâs blank wall into the shape of the national flag but was asked by the local authorities to remove it. This information has caused many conflicting opinions.
The trend of "a roof is a national flag" is being enthusiastically supported by the people and creating a strong effect. However, recently, information has been spread on social networks about a house in Yet Kieu ward, Ha Long city (Quang Ninh) that painted the national flag on the wall and was forced to remove it by ward officials.
The above information has attracted the attention of the online community, many shares and many conflicting opinions were posted on social networks. As soon as the information about the incident was obtained, local authorities quickly took action to verify and clarify.
According to Thanh Nien, on August 15, information from the People's Committee of Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) that the local authorities have just invited the person who spread the information "people who painted the national flag on the wall of their house were forced to remove it by the government" to come to work.
According to the People's Committee of Ha Long City, through monitoring the situation on social networks, local authorities discovered that a personal Facebook account named TMT posted an article with the content: "A younger brother painted the national flag on the wall of his house, but the People's Committee of Yet Kieu Ward (Ha Long City) forced it to be removed. The homeowner is wondering if the above action violated any law and wants to get a written explanation, but the officials have not yet provided it."
Verification by local authorities shows that in April 2020, Mr. TDN built a house in Yet Kieu Ward and then painted the right wall of the house red with a five-pointed yellow star. The completed picture looks like the national flag.
However, when the image of the national flag on Mr. Nhat's wall was posted on Facebook, the cultural officer of Yet Kieu Ward People's Committee met and discussed with the homeowner the legal regulations on the size, form, image of the national flag and the management, use and preservation of the image of the national flag.
After being informed by the Yet Kieu ward authorities, the homeowner realized that preserving the image of the national flag was complicated and could easily be exploited by people to cut and paste images to sabotage and violate the law, so he voluntarily used red paint to cover the image of the five-pointed yellow star on the wall. Up to now, the wall at Mr. N's house is still painted red.
In recent days, Mr. TMT (residing in Hong Hai Ward, Ha Long City), owner of the Facebook account "TMT", has posted false information, causing public misunderstanding. Even as soon as the article was posted, many social networking sites copied, shared and edited the content; attracting many negative comments and opinions, distorting the Party's policies and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws.
At the meeting, after listening to the Ha Long City Police and Yet Kieu Ward People's Committee propagate and explain the legal regulations on the use of the national flag and images of the national flag, regulations on the use of the internet and social networks, Mr. TMT was aware of his responsibility in providing information on cyberspace. At the same time, he committed to strictly comply with the provisions of the law and the regulations of the locality where he resides, and was responsible for posting correction information to stabilize public opinion.
Currently, the Propaganda Department of the Ha Long City Party Committee is also closely coordinating with the police to continue to strictly handle individuals and organizations that provide false information about this incident, resolutely not allowing bad elements to use fake news to cause panic in the community. At the same time, the Propaganda Department of the Ha Long City Party Committee requires newspapers, social networking sites, and Facebook accounts to remove untrue and unverified information and articles that have been posted in recent days.
