Queen B is known as one of the female rappers with a lot of experience in the Underground community. She has just ended an impressive but also regrettable journey at "Rap Viet" season 4.
Queen B, whose real name is Nguyen Thuy Quynh, was born in 1997 in Hanoi and is one of the most prominent female rappers in Vietnam's rap scene. She is a member of the RVB group and the Locoboiz team, and has gained a lot of experience from participating in rap battles in the Underground community.
Queen B started her rap career very early and quickly proved her talent through many impressive performances. In particular, she is also a multi-talented artist who can rap in many different languages. Although she has been pursuing her passion for rapping for more than 6 years, she had a long period of inactivity in music due to moving abroad.
After releasing her EP in 2021, Queen B participated in the casting round of "Rap Viet" season 2, impressing the audience and judges with her performance in 3 languages. In an interview, she shared that she chose "Rap Viet" as the stage to mark her return after a long absence.
This decision not only affirms her love and passion for rap but also shows the desire to conquer and assert herself of the talented female rapper. Thanks to participating in many rap battles from big to small in the Underground community, she is familiar with the pressure of the stage and does not feel stressed like many other contestants. However, her journey at "Rap Viet" season 2 is not very impressive.
After 2 years of training, cultivating and perfecting herself, Queen B has returned to "Rap Viet" season 4. Showing her prominence as a professional rapper, she received 4 picks from 4 coaches right from the first seconds and 93% of the audience's votes through the rap "Vo Tu Di".
Judge Thai VG said that Queen B's performance completely conquered him in every way, but the male rapper still felt like she had not unleashed all her energy. After consulting, the 3 judges brought the female rapper of the fightin.g system to coach Suboi's team because they believed that with the energy and compatibility between the two, they would create a more upgraded version of Queen B.
In the Confrontation round, Queen B was paired with Saabirose but caused controversy because of their very different colors. Queen B's rap was edgy and powerful, while Saabirose was more gentle and tender. However, the duo's performance of "Xinh Dep Em Co Quyen" was still one of the most notable performances.
Judge Thai VG shared: "This year's Rap Viet is the year of the women, Su's team and the female contestants are really amazing, this performance reminds me of XG and you guys really 'kille.d this beat'!". With a close vote from the studio audience of 52% for Saabirose and 48% for Queen B. JustaTee chose Saabirose to move on.
Karik's final golden hat was thrown onto the stage and Queen B became a member of his team. This decision was supported by many people and congratulated the male coach for bringing the most capable "fighter", even considered the female rapper with the highest "level" throughout 4 seasons of "Rap Viet" to the team.
In the Breakthrough round, Queen B chose the phrase "The older the ginger, the spicier it is" and used what could be considered her weakness, her ag.e, to confidently assert herself. The female rapper did not disappoint the audience when she showed that ag.e comes with experience. Notably, she and producer Tinle also changed the beat 3 times with 3 different delivery styles and many flow changes in one song.
The lyrics in this performance of Queen B are also very high quality along with another great strength which is clear rap. The female rapper's performance ability is even more highly appreciated when she completely dominates the stage with a strong style, sweeping everything away. Coach Suboi expressed her gratitude to Coach Karik for letting Queen B go all out, it really gets better and better.
Thanks to that, the 9x Hanoi gir.l defeated Tieu Minh Phung, V# and Saabirose to advance to the finals. However, on the evening of December 7, when episode 14 of "Rap Viet" 2024 aired, MC Tran Thanh announced that Queen B and Dangrangto would not be present in the finals due to poor health. Karik expressed regret that the journey of his team's female contestant was not complete.
Meanwhile, BigDaddy said: "This is very sad news. Dang is a contestant I put a lot of trust in. His health is not good so he did not participate." On his personal page, the Gen Z rapper shared: "Maybe my fate with Rap Viet only ends here. I could not keep up with the final schedule with everyone.
This is something I did not expect. I thank everyone for waiting and supporting. I apologize for not being able to meet everyone's expectations on the Rap Viet journey, especially teacher BigDaddy and the fans. Dangrangto would like to send my best wishes to the program and the brothers participating in Rap Viet for much success."
For the audience, Queen B and Dangrangto's withdrawal from "Rap Viet" season 4 is "extremely sad" news because these are two potential candidates for the championship this year. "Why does it smell like a script? Both of them have a very high chance of winning the trophy. Why did they suddenly withdraw?", "The script was so well-arranged, why did they put the two people I love the most?", "The two most outstanding and outstanding rappers are leaving", the audience wrote on forums.
