Young Puppy is known as a young talent who attracts the attention of the public thanks to her lovely appearance and clear voice. Recently, she had an impressive journey in "Rap Viet" season 4 as a contestant of Team B Ray.

Nguyen Hoang Bao Ngoc, known by her stage name Young Puppy, was born on October 20, 2001 in Hai Phong. She is a prominent female singer and rapper in the Rap Hip Hop and RnB genres. She appeared on the show "Rap Viet" season 4 (2024) as a contestant and was considered a potential factor.

Sharing about the meaning of her stage name "Young Puppy", she said: "I chose this stage name because I really admire puppies. Even though many puppies are abused or abandoned, they are always happy to welcome new things, not bound by the past and always looking towards the future. I wish I could live like that too."

Regarding her musical style, the female rapper describes: "My music is dark and sad, but in that silence there is always hope. This helps me realize that I need to change the way I write music. Although the lyrics are still sad, the melody will become more cheerful, opening up a positive perspective."

In 2022, Young Puppy made a splash in the music industry when she released the song "Call Me On My Phone". In May 2023, the song "Wrong Times" - a collaboration between her and Dangrangto - received enthusiastic support from the music community immediately after its official release. A line in the song, "350 Xè Đôi", aroused the curiosity of many audiences, making them wonder whether the number 350 had a special meaning or just appeared randomly.

In an interview with DAO LABELS, Young Puppy explained: "The number 350, according to the concept of angel numbers, symbolizes strength and great success. It means perseverance, never giving up and always improving, learning new things, accepting new challenges. Not only in life but also in love, 350 is a number that contains many sincere emotions and deep love."

In 2024, at the show "Rap Viet", Young Puppy made a strong impression with the performance "Em Yeu Puppy" (original version is the song "Cun Yeu"), in collaboration with singer Luong Bich Huu. The performance received 3 choices from coaches Suboi, B Ray, BigDaddy and 84% of the audience's votes.

After a period of recruitment by the coaches, the judges finally decided to bring Young Puppy to team B Ray. In the Confrontation round, she was paired with CoolKid (from the same DG House team as Rhyder). Choosing the melodic rap genre (rap music combined with lyrical, easy-to-listen melodies), both sang about the theme of teenage love.

Young Puppy played the role of the proud girl, while CoolKid transformed into the boy determined to conquer her, bringing an extremely adorable performance of "Love Somebody" on stage. In the coach's seats, Suboi, Karik, and BigDaddy all jumped and responded to the rhythm of the song.

Karik believes that this song by the duo promises to "create a trend" in the near future because the lyrics and arrangement are catchy, targeting young audiences. Meanwhile, BigDaddy highly appreciates CoolKid's flow technique (interacting with the rhythm of the music), saying that he got "goosebumps" when the contestant's voice first sounded.

Notably, the lyrics of the song "Love Somebody" also unexpectedly mentioned "Baby Boo" (Tang My Han's nickname) - HIEUTHUHAI's girlfriend. As soon as he heard this rap, he revealed a bright expression on television.

Regarding the competition, HIEUTHUHAI commented that CoolKid's rap was spontaneous and artistic. "You know how to control your voice, making the melody always linger in the listener's mind," commented the champion of Say Hi Brother.

Young Puppy and CoolKid's performance "Love Somebody" not only stirred up the stage of "Rap Viet" season 4, making the coaches and judges excited, but also attracted more than 700 thousand views after 10 hours of posting on social networks. This shows that both of their music is very suitable for listeners' taste.

However, in this round, Young Puppy was still somewhat "inferior" to CoolKid and this guy was chosen by the judges to continue with team B Ray. The female rapper had to enter round 8Bar to compete for a spot in the Breakthrough round with Vlary, ICY Famou$ and Ngan.

As a result, rapper Ngan was chosen by coach B Ray as the last member to accompany the team and Young Puppy had to stop playing here. Although she did not continue, she still returned to the stage of "Rap Viet" season 4 to support her senior Robber.

The rap "1TINHYEU" by "captain" Hustlang featuring Young Puppy brought a new melody. Judge Thai VG kept praising: "I really like the chorus, it has a hip hop color". Thanks to that, Robber had the opportunity to compete with Manbo for a ticket to the final round and this guy won.

In particular, the song "1TINHYEU" - combining modern rap and a simple love message; conveying a story about overcoming difficulties; the value of love and connection between people that Young Puppy supported Robber has reached more than 605 thousand views after only 3 days of posting on YouTube.

Not only making an impression in the music industry, Young Puppy is also quite famous on social networks. The proof is that her TikTok channel has now attracted more than 263 thousand followers and 4.6 million likes. A sharp increase compared to the time she first joined "Rap Viet" season 4.
