Mr. Nawat and the Miss Grand International organizing committee have come up with 9 claims against Indian beauty Rachel Gupta after strippin.g her of the Miss Grand International 2024 crown.
On June 6, the Miss Grand International ( MGI ) organizing committee posted on the contest's homepage an announcement including 9 accusations against Indian beauty Rachel Gupta.
Previously, Mr. Nawat and Rachel Gupta continuously made statements condemning each other on social media. Both held press conferences and gave their personal views on the incident.
In the latest move, MGI organizers drew attention when they made 9 specific accusations against Rachel Gupta. Notably, MGI said that Rachel was slandering and spreading false information.
"She claimed that she lost $1,000, which is completely untrue and a fabricated story to demand more mone.y from the company," MGI said.
MGI also said that Rachel threatened to demand $4,500 without evidence.
"She tried to pressure and demand the company to pay an additional $4,500 without any evidence, only verbally claiming that expenses had been incurred without receipts," the organizers said.
In addition, MGI also accuse.d Rachel of inappropriate behavior towards male employees and employees of the LGBT community.
"She hugged, touched staff members and made inappropriate gestures towards members of the content creation team, cameramen, makeup artists and hair stylists," the notice said.
MGI claims that Rachel made statements that were damaging to the organization. Rachel's statements in interviews, calling MGI's products "poor quality" and "disgusting", are said to have affected the organization's commercial image.
MGIâs accusations against Rachel are being hotly debated on beauty forums. Mr. Nawat and MGI have received mixed reactions from the online community.
Rachel Gupta announced her resignation from the Miss Grand International 2024 title on May 28. Shortly after, she held a press conference to make allegations against Mr. Nawat and the MGI organization.
"I do this for all the girls who have the same dream as me. I want them to know what kind of organization this is. I want the girls to know how to protect themselves so that no one falls into the same situation as me," Rachel shared at the press conference.
Mr. Nawat also held a press conference and gave many opinions on the incident, attracting the attention of the beauty pageant community. The incident still shows no signs of ending when Mr. Nawat said he will use legal actions against Rachel.
It can be seen that in less than half a year since the final night, the Top 5 of Miss Grand 2024 has changed almost completely, with only two names remaining to hold the title. This is considered an unprecedented situation in the history of international beauty contests.
Miss Grand International still attracts a huge global following, thanks in no small part to its strong, flexible and attention-grabbing media strategy. However, short-term appeal is no substitute for long-term value. Major beauty pageants are measured not just by livestream views but also by how they protect the value of their titles and their titleholders behind the scenes.
The constant changes in the Top 5, the withdrawal of contestants, and the hasty appointment of replacements are signs that the Miss Grand operating model is unstable. Contestants may shine in their crowning moments, but if not protected by a professional and sustainable human resources process, the crown will be just a fragile piece of jewelry.
While veteran beauty pageants such as Miss Universe or Miss World often maintain their Miss and Runner-up teams throughout their terms, with clear strategic directions after the coronation, Miss Grand is putting itself in a risky zone - where the value of the title is dominated by social media emotions, public controversies and one-sided decisions from the leader.
Mr. Nawat is less charming, criticizing the former MGI who has just been stripped of the "smelly" crown Minh Lợi14:19:10 04/06/2025On June 3, the former Miss Grand International 2024 publicly announced the reason for returning the crown for the first time. Mr. Nawat's side then also made a response but made beauty fans angry.
