Journalist Hoang Nguyen Vu said that, no matter the circumstances, taking the life of a child is a crime. You cannot use the excuse of depression to cover up and sympathize.
Regarding the case of a biological mother throwing her 2-month-old baby from the 5th floor, causing a stir in public opinion. On June 16, the authorities took the testimony of Ms. PTQ (born 1985, from Long An). According to initial information, on the morning of April 14, Ms. Q and her husband took their child to the City Children's Hospital (Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City) for examination. Although the doctor concluded that the baby had gastric reflux, Mrs. Q still did not believe it and discussed with her husband to have her reexamined. As a result of the second examination, the doctor concluded that H. had weak lungs and gastroesophageal reflux and admitted him to the hospital for treatment. Confessing to Binh Chanh district police, the mother explained that she thought her child was seriously ill, had no money for treatment, and was stressed due to the child's constant crying, so she threw him from the 5th floor of the hospital, causing his death.
After sharing on social networks, although very angry about the above behavior, many comments said that the consequences of postpartum depression are truly terrible. Without understanding and sharing from family and relatives, negative thoughts are inevitable.
However, contrary to public opinion, journalist Hoang Nguyen Vu harshly condemned the mother's behavior. The journalist said that before committing the crime, the mother still had the capacity to control her behavior. We cannot use excuses such as cough, stress, pressure of life... to cruelly take an innocent life. Journalist Hoang Nguyen Vu also added that if you detect depression, you should get treatment, don't drag children into tragic accidents like this.
Nguyen shared with Hoang Nguyen Vu:
The mother dropping her child from the 5th floor of the hospital to the ground leading to death: Please don't say sympathize with that mother!
There is currently no official conclusion from the investigation agency about whether the mother suffered from postpartum depression or not.
But what no longer needs to be concluded is that the baby had to leave life at just 2 months old, by the mother's own hands.
That is something we cannot imagine. The baby was taken to Children's Hospital for medical examination. The father sat in the waiting room on the ground floor, the mother picked up the child and dropped it from the ventilation door (according to information in Tuoi Tre newspaper).
Up to this point, the mother still had enough capacity to act: accompany her husband, take her child to the doctor, and clearly declare to the investigation agency that the baby often cried at night and coughed at night.
Maybe, the baby crying at night and coughing at night causes the mother to lose sleep and experience severe stress.
Maybe when women have small children, they have to endure many things that are tiring for their mental health.
And maybe, many men do not share child care with women, especially at a time when they are vulnerable to postpartum depression.
No matter what "may" be, the above behavior, it is a crime.
********
Many people say that if the mother is depressed, don't say bitter words, just understand, love and share.
Some people even say, forgive and love more.
No!
If you are depressed or have signs of depression, seek medical treatment. There are many people with postpartum depression. But, to drop a child from above, let alone a biological child, is not a small crime, not a light one.
I don't know if there are any other reasons because people often cite many reasons: debt, poverty, jealousy..., for depriving children of their lives. Recently, with many heartbreaking incidents.
Children are innocent, they have the right to live. Your reasons are yours to solve and find solutions for, not to blame on the children.
Why should we sympathize with those who kill children? Why must we recognize the reasons for crime in order to sympathize? If you want, go and die alone, why drag the children in?
********
Depression is an alarming disease, but the complete loss of feelings of love for one's own child to commit terrible actions is truly terrifying.
Why do you keep worrying about depression all day long, seeing it as a reason to sympathize with crime?
Admittedly, yes, we need to love and understand, we need to share and help each other in life to bring our loved ones back to a normal state when they are depressed, to prevent or limit unfortunate events from happening. especially the role of husband and father.
But the lives of children are much more important. Remember they have the right to live, be loved and protected more than anyone else in this life!
