The consulting company Kissinger Associates of former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger announced on the evening of November 29 (morning of November 30, Hanoi time) that he passed away at his home, at the age of 100.
Mr. Henry Kissinger - former US Secretary of State was born in Furth, Germany, on May 27, 1923, then came to America with his family in 1938.

After President Richard Nixon was elected with a pledge to end the war in Vietnam in 1968, Mr. Kissinger was selected to the White House as National Security Advisor.
He also held the position of US Secretary of State under President Nixon and President Gerald Ford.
Mr. Kissinger was involved in many major international events in the 1970s.
Kissinger expressed his support for the US war in Vietnam, demonstrating a direct role in prolonging the hopeless war, despite realizing that the US could not win. He promoted President Nixon's plan to "Vietnamize the war" as well as expand the war to Cambodia.
Kissinger participated in the negotiation process of the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam in 1973. Vietnamese advisor Le Duc Tho at that time experienced tense "wisdoms" with Kissinger to reach the Agreement, with dozens of tense negotiation sessions in Paris to end the war and restore peace in Vietnam.
The 1973 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded by the Nobel Committee to Mr. Le Duc Tho and Mr. Kissinger, becoming one of the most controversial events in the history of the Nobel Peace Prize since its inception in 1895. Kissinger is very private about personal matters. He divorced his first wife, Ann Fleischer, in 1964, and married Nancy Maginnes, assistant to then-New York governor Nelson Rockefeller, in 1974. He had two children with his first wife.
