The information that Le Hang was prosecuted for illegal trading of banned substances made everyone surprised. Worth mentioning, her roles as big sisters and criminals seem to have been transformed into real life.
On April 23, Hanoi City Police said that the Dong Da District Police had issued a decision to prosecute the accused against Bui Thi Le Hang (48 years old, in Dong Da district) for the crime of illegally buying and selling banned substances.
Previously, on the evening of March 10, 2023, the Criminal Investigation Team - Dong Da District Police on patrol duty discovered a suspect in front of the house number 104 Kham Thien.
Examining this person, the police determined that Bui Thi Le Hang was illegally trading banned substances, and seized nearly 0.7 grams of synthetic narcotics. At the investigation headquarters, Hang confessed that he had bought the above banned substances for 500,000 VND to resell for a profit.
This information immediately surprised many people because before retiring, Le Hang used to be the familiar face of an actress with the audience of TV series.
Le Hang's real name is Bui Thi Le Hang (born 1975) from Tuyen Quang. In 1995, she had her first film role in the film Love Song in the Night. In 1997, Le Hang's name shot up with the role of Hoai "That Cho" in the movie Please Believe Me by director Do Thanh Hai. This is the most classic film on the subject of student life.
Le Hang was chosen by director Do Thanh Hai to play the role of Hoai "That Cho" when she was not yet 20 years old and was a first-year student at Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema.
At the time of the show's broadcast, Le Hang was called a "screen monster" because the character Hoai "That Cho" was a girl with personality, bravado, liked to drink, or dropped out of school and was ready to participate in the show. all the brawls are not inferior to any guy. Her role at that time resonated so much that, going out on the street, meeting any girl "tiger" is also called Hoai "That cho". However, behind that sassy look, Hoai is a very emotional person: She takes care of an orphan and always protects her friends.
Hoai is only ready to change herself when she meets Phong "romantic" of the Conservatory of Music - a gentle, sincere and "original Hanoian". Phong's love made Hoai want to give up drinking parties, quarrels and live the gentle nature of a student girl. But Hoai's "illustrious" past made that love encounter many difficulties, in the end the young couple could not have a happy ending.
It can be said that the role of Hoai "That Cho" through the performance of Le Hang has made a strong impression in the eyes of the audience. Her delicate, natural and graceful acting has clearly portrayed a wild, wild Hoai but very weak inside.
Up to the present time, the movie Please Believe Me and the image of Hoai character "That Cho" are still imprinted in the memory of the audience who love Vietnamese dramas of the 7X and 8X generations.
Le Hang said that there was a time when she did something foolish with an episode like in Please believe me. "In the movie, there is a part where Hoai is suspected of stealing money from his roommate. When I was a student, I was also in that situation. At that time, it was very painful and I didn't know what to do. The eyes, the insinuations. It makes me so sad and ashamed." Pressed and no longer able to justify, the actress chose to threaten to harm herself to affirm her innocence. "After that, the incident caused a stir in the whole school, I was cleared and became famous," she added.
After the movie Please believe me, Le Hang has a relationship with many other dramas, but they are all the roles of personality girls, "big sister", female criminals. Le Hang's impression on cinema must include roles such as Bao in Candles in the Night, Thanh Wolf in White Collar, Ban in Street Stories, Tuy in Dragonfly Squadron...
However, Le Hang herself also admitted that Hoai "That Cho" was a "shadow" too big for her to overcome. She almost "lost" her real name because many years later, every time she saw Le Hang's face, the audience only remembered and called her Hoai.
Le Hang once shared: "If I had "escaped my body" from Hoai, if I had changed, no one would believe me just looking at my face. Even the scene in the movie Please believe me: Phong came to the dormitory, Hoai was shy. The whole film crew burst out laughing, but I don't understand why! Later I found out, when I was acting in a gentle, fake deer, I couldn't believe it when I looked at my face."
After graduating from the Theater and Film School, Le Hang became an actress of the Youth Theater.
The actress's private life and family are not shared much. It is known that the life of Hoai "That Cho" in the years 2000, 2008 was quite peaceful and happy. She got married and soon gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Le Hang once said that her husband's name is Minh, does business and has a general "at first glance, it is very fierce", "slowly not saying anything". When we first met, Le Hang was very scared but I don't understand why, from being afraid of her to falling in love with him and getting married.
The actress once shared that by 2007, her salary was still only 500,000 VND/month. All living expenses of Le Hang are provided by her husband. She once confessed: "Without a husband, I starve."
However, Le Hang's husband and in-laws are very supportive of her pursuing her passion for art.
Because of her husband's solid support, Le Hang once took her 4-year-old daughter to film with her.
Even the actress's mother-in-law is also supportive, she once shared about her family: "Fortunately, my husband's family is very understanding and sympathetic to my profession. Therefore, I always try to fulfill my responsibilities. duty to his family."
However, the happiness and glory of the acting profession did not keep Le Hang with the stage and small screen for too long. In 2012, the famous "female monster" of the small screen once announced her retirement.
Since then, she has completely "disappeared" from Vietnamese showbiz. Even her former colleagues at the Youth Theater did not know where she was and what she was doing.
Hoai's absence "That Cho" has made many viewers who used to admire her feel regretful and disappointed.
