Erik is known as one of the most enduring male singers in the Vietnamese entertainment industry. His musical talent is undeniable and is guaranteed by his million-view hits.
Erik's real name is Le Trung Thanh (born October 13, 1997 in Hanoi), in a family where no one is in the arts. His family once opposed the singer's choice of an artistic path and an agreement was made that if he passed the Blind Audition round of The Voice Kids 2013, they would create conditions for him to pursue his passion.
As a result, Erik passed the Blind Audition round and chose to join coach Hien Thuc's team, making it to the final Top 15. Having a good start, he registered for a number of other music competitions and achieved encouraging results such as: National Gold Prize for Young Pink Melody 2013, Top 25 of Vietnamese Star 2014, Top 4 of The Winner Is 2014.
In January 2015, Erik participated in St.319 Entertainment's trainee audition and was selected with a comprehensive training contract on singing, dancing, and professional performance according to the training model of the Korean entertainment industry for one year.
After a period of training, Erik officially debuted to the audience with his first music product called "Sau Tat Ca" on January 11, 2016. In December, as the Vietnam-Korea Tourism Ambassador selected by the Korea Tourism Organization, Monstar participated in a series of tourism promotion activities in Korea, the highlight of which was the release of a music video promoting tourism in the kimchi country titled "Love Rain".
In late 2016 and early 2017, Erik continued to release another solo product of his, the song "Lac Nhau Co Phai Muon Doi", the OST for the movie "Cho Em Den Ngay Mai". This song, along with the success of previous soundtracks, helped the male singer to be officially nicknamed "Prince of Movie Soundtracks" by the media and audience.
In February 2017, Erik decided to leave Monstar and St.319 Entertainment to become a freelance singer. In later activities, he and Monstar often attended the same event, still comfortably talking and taking pictures together.
3 months later, Erik collaborated with Min to release the MV "Ghen". The MV received a lot of attention from the audience, marking his strong comeback, as well as the excitement when the two artists came from St.319 Entertainment. This song also achieved high achievements on Vietnamese music charts, after more than 4 days of airing, it reached 3.5 million views and ranked first on YouTube's Top Trending in Vietnam.
Erik has joined HI Entertainment. The first product of the male singer's new company is "Don't Be Sorry Anymore". After the success of the song, he collaborated with a Korean musician to release "Minh Chia Tay Di" which left many impressions, especially with the audience of the movie "Cua Lai Vo Bau".
Erik's most successful product at HI Entertainment is the super hit "Cham Day Noi Dau", surpassing the milestone of 100 million views on YouTube. Following this success, the male singer continued to release two products, "Dung Co Mo" and "Anh Ta La Sao".
In February 2019, Erik collaborated with the famous Korean group Momoland. On July 28, the male singer officially released the MV "Co Tat Ca Nhung Thieu Anh" and quickly reached the Top 1 trending on YouTube Vietnam after only 1 day of release.
In 2020, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Erik collaborated with Min to release the song "Ghen Co Vy" to promote epidemic prevention. The song soon achieved relative success internationally and became a viral video, praised by many music magazines including Billboard.
On the evening of May 6, 2020, Erik released the MV "Em Khong Sai, Chung Ta Sai". This is also the first time Miss Vietnam 2018 Tran Tieu Vy has starred in an MV. Em Khong Sai, Chung Ta Sai has a catchy, easy-to-listen melody, showing the strength of Erik's voice. The song tells the story of a bo.y's regret and torment when he cannot keep his lover by his side.
In January 2021, Erik released the MV "Anh Luon La Ly Do". After that, he participated in the program The Heroes - Idol vs Idol 2021 and won the championship with 9.88 points, thanks to the national performance called "Nam Quoc Son Ha".
On January 26, 2022, Erik released the MV "If Love Is Too Hard, Run Back and Cry With Me". This is a product with strong Asian features in terms of image and melody. The song has created love with the audience and has been covered by many audiences to dance and sing.
On February 17, 2022, Erik returned with the song "The Most Painfu.l Is Silence" written by Quang Hung MasterD. The song marked his own vocal maturity. On July 11, Erik sang the sweet soundtrack "Someone's Clouds in the Sky".
