Before the magnitude 7.5 earthquake, people in Japan captured the moment a white light pierced the sky at a very fast speed and the sight of thousands of birds gathering in the sky forming images like waves.
At 16:10 (local time), Japan was hit by a magnitude 7.5 earthquake with an epicenter 10km deep in the area of Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. With its intensity, this earthquake was followed by a series of remarkable tremors. The Japan Meteorological Agency also issued a high-level tsunami warning for coastal areas and said waves in the Noto area could reach 5 meters.
While the situation of the earthquake and tsunami continues to develop, some netizens have also posted remarkable videos and said that these are strange phenomena that occurred just before the earthquake.
One person recorded what was described as a "meteor falling from the sky" with a flash of white light penetrating the sky at a very fast speed, while another captured images of two suspected meteorite objects flying across the sky one by one.
In addition, many videos posted on X also show the scene of thousands of birds gathering in the sky and flying away in flocks, forming images like waves. Similar videos showing flocks of crows gathering around a high-rise building before the quake struck are also getting a lot of attention.
Currently, the relevant Japanese agencies have not responded to this issue, but many people believe that this is a warning sign of natural disasters because there has been a lot of evidence that animals can sense natural disasters earlier than humans and behave strangely before the disaster occurs.
Not long ago, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred in Xishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, China at 23:59 on December 18. The epicenter was located in the town of Liuguo. The quake killed at least 118 people in Gansu and 11 in Qinghai, damaging water, electricity, transportation, communications and other infrastructure.
According to local media, it was the deadliest earthquake to hit China in nearly a decade since the one in Yunnan province that killed about 600 people in 2014.
Two days before the Gansu earthquake, some residents captured the sight of a huge flock of black birds flying in the local sky. Images taken in the evening showed large flocks of blackbirds on the streets, some flying in circles at low altitude, while most blackbirds were stationed on power lines.
This is a rare phenomenon, very rarely happens, so it has attracted everyone's attention.
Soon after the Gansu earthquake struck, images of blackbirds went viral. Many people believe that this is a harbinger of natural disasters because historically, there has been much evidence of animals sensing natural disasters earlier than humans and behaving strangely between weeks and seconds before earthquakes.
In 1975, a similar phenomenon occurred in Haicheng City (Liaoning, China). Despite extremely low temperatures and freezing water, scores of snakes raced out of hibernation in the weeks leading up to a magnitude 7.3 earthquake that struck Haicheng on Feb. 4 that year.
The reptile's unusual behavior, along with other incidents, convinced authorities to evacuate people from the city hours before the disaster struck.
The animals also behaved strangely before the historic 7.8 magnitude earthquake on July 28, 1976 in the industrial city of Tangshan, Hebei province, China. This disaster leveled almost the entire city, claiming the lives of more than 700 thousand people.
Zhang Huxiao, a crew member, saw that there was a screeching sound around the boat, and then a flock of blue dragonflies flew up and filled the boat, and the chaser or catcher did not move.
The day before the earthquake, Zhang Huu and many others in Binh Thon Township, Tian'an County, Tangshan saw the mother bird's nest sucking on the baby nest fly away. Many people in the district also saw dragonflies and grasshoppers flying in flocks spread over a hundred meters.
That night, many people heard dogs barking unusually, horses breaking the reins and rushing to the highway. And at 3:45 a.m. on July 28, 1976, an earthquake that was assessed as having "the destructive power of 400 atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima" occurred.
According to The Washington Post , videos taken in Turkey show that, ahead of the earthquake that killed more than 7,800 people in Turkey and Syria in the early morning hours of Feb. 6, 2023, when it was not yet morning, birds rushed out of their nests, scattered and croaking loudly above houses.
In 2016, about 15 minutes before the magnitude 5.8 earthquake in Oklahoma (USA), people also witnessed thousands of birds rushing out in the air as if sensing terrible things to come.
